Wearing flip flops at swimming pool

My DD is a Swimming teacher at the local pool. She is often in the water especially with the smaller children, never got a Verruca.
When she's not expecting to go in the water with the more able children she wears trainers with soles with some grip, not flip flops as they are a H&S issue.

I think they're a good idea, I bought some sliders for the shower rooms, which can be slippery. I'm ultra cautious since I broke my arm a while back.

I favour Crocs poolside to much reduce my risk of falling.
(Knee replacement).

I have worn flip flops around pools for years, ever since slipping over on wet steps at the poolside many years ago, ended up with a broken ankle. Definitely safer and may help with not picking up verrucas and athlete's foot too.

Definitely wear feet covering.

I wear pool slides because I have diabetic neuropathy in my feet and have limited sensation and balance. They help me walk better and I'm not scared of slipping

Not sure how they protect from verrucas, maybe more comfortable but your feet still get wet.

As well as avoiding foot pro lens wearing something on the feet helps stop slipping on wet tiles etc

Although I wear my pool slides only from the changing room to the pool ladder, I find that the soles often look pretty dirty. That would otherwise be on my bare feet. Yuk. Luckily my pool slides wash beautifully in the washing machine.

It wasn’t verrucas that made me wear swim shoes, but a nasty dose of athlete’s foot.
Never had it since I’ve worn them and they also make it much easier to do Aqua run and less risk of slipping on the pool side.

Personally I think it is a good idea.

I don’t wear them but I’ve noticed that a few others do.

Almost everyone at our Aquafit classes wears pool slides or flipflops.

A couple of my friends say that they wear flip flops when attending their local swimming pool in case they get verrucas. I don’t. Does anyone else on here wear them? What are my chances of catching anything?
