RSV vaccine

There’s another thread currently running about this or rather any possible side effects from having the jab.

Just had an Email offering it to me!

We both had RSV jab last week with no ill effects.

We were contacted by our surgery to arrange the RSV vaccination, as we are between 75 & 80. It wasn’t a virus I’d heard of, so did some research, and subsequently have booked appointments.

Like the shingles jab I think it's regularly given in America.

Thank you for that. I had never heard of RSV (certainly nothing from the surgery) and I have COPD.

I hadn't heard about this either until my appointment came in. I will go ahead and have it as RSV is not something I want to get.

Just looked it up. A respiratory virus which can last for a couple of weeks.

What does rsv stand for Sue?

We've both had messages from our surgery but still haven't made a decision yet as to whether to have it or not. The flu jab is coming up, also another COVID which we shall have. This RSV vaccination has rather come out of the blue hasn't it?

I had it on Monday, no ill effects

My dh has had a letter about this. He’ll take up the offer. Our GD was hospitalised as a baby with RSV, it’s a horrible illness.

My neighbour told me she has also been contacted about this. Hadn’t heard of it til yesterday.
