I too started getting vivid dreams that woke me up. I happened to mention it to my Cardiologist who said it was probably the Beta Blockers.
Check out if you are on any Meds as it could be a side effect?

MissAdventure

I have some challenging dreams every night.

That Kylie Minogue, I tell you, if she ever asks you to plan her wedding, just say no!!

I will remember this sage advice grin

I have phases of having weird dreams but it passes. I've never been able to work out what causes them. I know it can be linked to anxiety or some foods but for me they arrive out of nowhere.

I don't dream much anymore but sometimes cheese and spicy food will make me dream!

If I have an unusual dream I usually think back to what I was eating around bedtime!

Most people dream vividly every night but don’t wake up enough to remember them.

Your sleep sends to be disturbed and I’d address that rather than Psycho analysing.

There may be a switch in your boiler or external noise which wakes you?

You may be eating too late, or you may have inflammation. Are you pre diabetic? Have just had Covid?

Dreams are interesting and it might be fun to write them down when you wake up? As I say most people don’t wake up in the middle of their dreams, so forget them entirely. You’re lucky in a way as you can recall yours.

My weird dreams and occasional night terrors are caused by medication.

Hello wise ladies...looking for some insight into this topic, please.

I have periods when I wake up, almost always around 4am (I know this is the time one's BP starts to rise in preparation for waking) from a very vivid, detailed and often chronological dream. Sometimes, I can go back to sleep fairly easily but often have another dream or continue the one I woke from. This can happen several times a night. Sometimes I can't get back to sleep and can be wakeful for over an hour.

It's not generally the content of the dreams which disturbs me, but rather what the frequency of them suggests about my mental health - should I be worried? Of course I've googled it and the general consensus seems to be that dreaming is good for us, clearing our minds of the daily debris, although there is some evidence that they may be linked to degenerative brain diseases shock

Do other GNs recognise this? What do others think?

Thanks
