Well done with the baking - I can’t remember when I last did any. That was a useful days faffing.
Hope your poor Sons mouth heals soon- must be very painful.
Doodle- yes I got to Photography as there was no snow. Last months subjects were Nightime,Seashores and the letter H. If we haven’t been able to get out to take pics we can use our photo libraries. Like your dear DH we all have thousands of photos to chose from.
Were you Xmas shopping? I,m going to try to get a few bits this afternoon. This evening we are going to see the new Gladiator film. I just hope we won’t drop off as since we went there last there are recliner chairs!
Ah 6 months without your lovely man. So many wonderful memories and what a beautiful place to sit and remember. He would be so proud of you and the brave way you are dealing with everything.
Candy- Hope you were able to sleep after your session on the I pad. You must have been tired though after all that cleaning.
Cats aren’t too keen on snow are they but I remember my retriever whizzing about in the field with his nose in the snow like a snowplough.

Sorry you couldn’t get out yesterday - yes it’s a bit difficult when someone is not on your wavelength but it’s good to chat with your lady as she will have different views and ideas one of which might be an unexpected help for you.
A little plan of campaign for Xmas is needed. As others have said Vouchers are always good - I think Amazon do them. Hampers as you said are always welcome - big or small. Nobody wants you to be worried about Xmas but I,m sure your nice care worker would help you.

Because of the snow and workers car being dodgy we didn’t get out. It wasn’t an easy talk (she’s nice enough but not sort of on my wavelength - I do see care worker tomorrow and she is, hope the snow doesn’t stop a walk. Done nothing about C mas, all too much to think of.

Evening all, here I am, on my iPad when I should be cutting down! I’m very tired this evening though as I’ve cleaned the house from top to bottom today. I don’t often stay in all day and at least I got a lot done.

Ellie Anne good to see you in but sorry your sadness continues. I hope you feel better soon and get your carpet problem sorted. When you feel low, even small problems seem enormous and stress you out. Treat yourself to something nice, a glass of wine or something nice to eat.
HVDY you too have had a productive day. What did you bake? Something nice I hope. I’ve started to bake more. Mainly scones or Victoria sponge. Very basic and I won’t be joining Bake Off anytime soon! Did Jaffa like the snow? My younger dog was wary last night but soon got over it when it was time for his walk this morning! Hope your family get well soon so you can meet up again.

Ellie Anne I’m so sorry to hear you are in tears. As someone who cries a lot these days I do sympathise. When we are feeling low every little thing gets us down. Whatever it is that’s causing you such distress I hope it calms down soon and you get some respite from this misery. It is a knitted shawl.
Scaredycat did you get to the photography meet. What was the subject today? DH loved his photography. I have thousands of pictures to sort through, Like you I wouldn’t stop the ADs now I need them and I think they help.
I’ve been shopping with a friend today. Didn’t buy much but it was nice to have some company.
HVDY I think like most of us I wanted the counsellor to wave a magic wand and say there you are all your troubles are solved now. Unfortunately, that’s not possible. Endurance and patience she said so that’s what I’m trying to do. Wow you’ve started your Christmas cards already. I’m not up to facing mine yet but need to get going.
It is 6 calendar months today I lost my darling so I was back at the hospice early this morning. Out by the lake with an umbrella while it was snowing. Spent some time there then went shopping with a friend.

Candy6 I hope you're not overdoing things, you're always busy . We say daft things to our cat (all of the cats we've had), like "It's din-dins time", much like talking to a baby

Wyllow3 I'm glad you managed to do your shopping. I hope the snow will be gone soon so that you'll be able to get out with your care worker. If not, will you sit and chat, have a cup of tea?

EllieAnne Perhaps the tears are not all about the tv/carpet palaver, but more about your home life? Have you tried counselling (on the 'phone, perhaps)?

Doodle What a beautiful shawl. You're very skilled. Your counsellor sounds sensible and is correct - it's a case of having to go on, as your family still need and want you to do so. I hope you've had a better day today.

We woke up to 4 inches of snow today, so have stayed in. I did some baking (something I never do), wrote a lot of Christmas cards, did online shopping for a Christmas jumper, and generally faffed about. Son2 has got such a lot of blisters in his mouth, he's only eating soups and custard . Hope ALL BDers are ok today x

Yes my nieces situation sounds like one of many thousands- so many lives disrupted and so much suffering.
I hope your GP is vigilant with your DH and his BP . He still has a long wait for the Vascular appt. He also needs the breathing problems sorted - it never ends does it. You have a brave but sensible way of thinking about what happened to you - you are brave whether you think it or not!!
Doodle- your shawl is beautiful- lovely Autumn colours. You need a rocking chair to go with it!!
It’s good that your counsellor is honest with you. It mens whatever you say or ask her she will tell it like it is. But I,m sure in a kindly way. I think those days when you go out with others and perhaps don’t really want to go an be very hard but sometimes they can turn out to be much better and you are glad you went. I remember that well.
I,m glad you had a nice SiL- yes it’s an extra Sister and I,m sure you and she had good times together as did we.

HVDY- my home City is about 120 miles away. Some bits have changed but the City centre is just the same and I always feel so proud of it. I have lived in several cities due to work with DHs
My City is where I grew up and had 2 of my children.
Good dinner at Day Centre. Wyllow is right Black Forest Gateau was on every menu but usually preceded by Prawn Cocktail and Steak!!
Sensible of you to stay away from Son and Little Girl til they are infection free- you,ll really miss her though.

Candy- good to see you. You are right sometimes using devices before bed time can disrupt sleep quite badly.
There is something to be said for living on the same town all your life. You must know so many people and have a lovely feeling of security and familiarity.
You and I feel the same about ADs. I would never stop them now - they have helped me so much.
Wyllow- brave of you to go shopping when you didn’t feel so good- nice to have a full fridge again though.
Sometimes I worry I say too much to you but I feel so angry that another person could belittle,hurt and destroy another’s confidence so badly. But I do believe your fighting spirit is gradually emerging- slowly but you will be you again. You,ll show them!!!
Hope you found something nice to do with MH worker- or just put on your wellies and worked. KOKOxxx
EllieAnne- I do think it would help you if you saw your GP and talked about ADs. Every little thing is getting to you and wearing you down and you have to cope virtually on your own. It’s not fair. Please take care and think of your health and wellbeing- if you only just talk to a trusted friend.

Thank you for caring thoughts. I’m on the verge of tears this morning but I can’t cry anymore. I think it would help if I could. After the saga of the tv I now have a carpet one. I’m not in touch with family really, HVDY. I know they love me but I’m not well enough to go visit its a long way and I find being with anyone after a couple of hours demanding to come out of a shell. Having get dressed for things is good for me but hard to do.

Black Forest Gateau! That takes me back when it was always on the menu! I’m so sorry to read that Son2 has now got Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and you are quite right to protect yourself, you’ll miss them, you'r very sociable, it’s really sad. 😔

I did supermarket shop today feeling quite poorly but no food had to be done. Tomorrow is MH worker don’t know what to do as we usually have a walk and snow on the ground.

Evening all, not been on for ages so I’ve tried to catch up as best I can. I’ve been trying to relax more in the evenings and keep off my devices as much as possible as I find I have difficulty in getting to sleep when I’ve been on them. My days are busy and it’s hard to get on sometimes. So sorry but I have been thinking of you all.
Wyllow good to see you koko. It seems that you are still having some difficult days but I sincerely hope that those bad days become few and far between for you. You will get there.
Doodle I’m sorry too that things are difficult for you but you do seem to have a wide circle of friends rooting for you. I hope you get to the seaside next year but Henley sounds like a lovely alternative for now. Your shawl is beautiful, you are very talented. I hope today has been a good one for you.
Sweetpeasue sorry you and your DH’s health problems continue. You both have a lot to put up with but at least his last appointment was encouraging. I hope he gets to see the vascular specialist very soon. It always seems like you are waiting for appointments and this must be very frustrating for you as well as tiring having to battle all the time. I feel for you. On a lighter note, your knitted figures are lovely. You are very clever. I haven’t knitted for many years. I wonder if it’s like riding a bike - like the saying goes “you never forget”?
Scaredycat I’m glad you enjoyed your trip to your former home city. It must be nice to go back and see the changes. I still live in the same town where I was born but I truly wish I’d had the drive in me to be adventurous and spread my wings. My parents, who I loved dearly, never encouraged us to spread our wings because they loved us so much and wanted to keep us close. I understand that but I regret not doing so now. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I was lucky to have such loving parents.
HVDY Jaffa sounds like he is doing well, all down to the loving care you are giving him no doubt. He’s rewarding you with lots of cuddles. My older dog used to love sitting on knees and we used to call it doing “knee knees” silly I know. Since he’s got older (he’s 18 now) he can’t settle the same and prefers his cozy bed. I hope LittleGirl is better. Her mouth must have been sore bless her. Hope you’ve had a good day today.
EllieAnne sorry you have been low. I hope you are feeling brighter now. As others have said, please reconsider AD’s. I recognise some of the feelings you describe and I can honestly say I don’t get them now. I was so wary of taking them, scared even, but glad I did. Take care of yourself.

HVDY Sounds like nice lunch at day care centre. So sorry about Littlegirl and the spread of the infection . Best not to have her where you have the vasculitus , you need to look after yourself.
Dh never had chest infections or asthma but certainly needs a GP appt .

Glad your DH’s appointment went well. So annoying that your Gp can’t help till your DH has seen vascular chap. I would go to the GP though and tell them the rheumatologist said you should contact them. Keep pushing that’s the only way.
I was wondering why you wanted to knit a grommet. I was thinking of the thing they put in your ear. Then I realised you meant Wallace and Grommet. 🤣
HVdY nice for you to have the two sisters together for a bit. Hope they got on ok. Jaffa is obviously really happy where he is.

Willow I had a shower and hair wash to and the what’s the point and I can’t go on like this sort of day. Had a chat with counsellor today who is very good and kind but honest. Basically it’s a matter of endurance and keep on going one foot in front of the other whether you feel like it or not. Hard to just keep going though. I pray for you, Ellie Anne and all on this thread.
Scaredycat glad you had such a lovely time with your family. I had a close bone with my SIL too. Nice for me as I had no sister of my own.

Wyllow3 The "no point" feelings you get are surely due to the abuse you suffered in your past relationship. If only you could realise what a bright, intelligent, good person you are. Your family need you. We BDers want you to get better. You can. Have you got any affirmations? I got some from Amazon for GD1 when she was being bullied at school.

ScaredyCat Glad you had such a good time away. Is your home city very far from where you live now? Has the place changed much?

SweetpeaSue I'm glad the rheumatologist appointment went okay. Perhaps your husband has got a chest infection or Asthma? Son1 saw his GP again last week as he's still coughing (about 4 weeks now) and has been given 2 inhalers. I was 36 when diagnosed with Asthma. I hope your DH can get to see someone soon. What's involved in an arm muscle test? You're so good at knitting - your little characters are great. I particularly love the penguin .

Nice lunch at the day centre - a roast pork (I had a vegetarian thing) dinner then Blak Forest gateau. Not having LittleGirl tomorrow, as Son2 has now got Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. As I've got an autoimmune problem (Vasculitis), we've all agreed best not to see her at the moment . Hope everyone else has been ok today x

HVDY Thanks ,I slept well last night with no pain. Your day didn't sound at all lazy but it's always lovely to get into a freshlyade bed isn't it? I don't know what it is - perhaps the smooth , no crinkles. I always like my bottom sheet pulled as tight as a drum! Jaffa has really made himself part of the family- you must be so pleased.
Wyllow Aw I'm sorry about the 'no hope or point' feelings again. I wish I knew what to say to make you believe in yourself as a valuable person -I think it's going to take time to repair damage done by your ex . You did well to get the wash done and dress. Hope today has been a little better. I'm just glad your meds can help when you feel so bad. If you could cry it might relieve your sadness , I don't know. Hope you see your carer this week and can talk to her.
Thankyou - you understand about the anger there at times ,though I think it's less anger now than a feeling of wrongs never to be righted which makes me sad but I'm never going to have complete 'closure' and I mostly accept - except when I get pain .

Scaredycat I thought of your neice today when I heard of the long Gynaecology waiting lists on the news. I do hope she soon gets her appt for the op. So glad you had such a nice visit to your SIL and your much loved past home-city. Places can often change so much but good to see the 'old ' parts.

Rheumatologist was pleased that DHs GCA headaches responded well to steroids and given tapering plan. He can't do anything about bringing Vascular appt forward but wants to know results of hand surgeon's nerve induction tests. He's not sure if his arm pain is because of carpal tunnel or to do with subclavian steal as his arms not got good blood flow. He said DH needs to inform GP about the breathlessness and wheeze as that's not to do with GCA.
So back to GP again who still can't treat his high BP until he sees Vascular which isn't till end of January. Big sigh!
DH will see hand surgeon again after his test results come through. He just has arm muscle test to do next Monday.

Been trying to put together parts of a knitted Gromit. Doesn't look like picture of it at present. Legs on photo point forward. DH says my Gromit has 'man spread'.

Back home this afternoon. It was so special to be back on my home city- I love it so much. So lovely to be with my SiL and niece again. Lots of hugs and reminiscences. We squeezed as much as we could out of our weekend. Have now read all your posts and caught up.
SweetPeaSue- so sorry your pain isn’t giving you much of a break. You are so kind to take your Aunt out when you are able.
What a good girl Fluffball is to settle down so well overnight. Does she jump on the bed in the morning?

Yes my SiL is great - we are good friends since we met about 65 yrs ago!! Her DH died 2 yrs ago and she is doing well. She has always welcomed my DH too.
Saturday we had a lovely river walk around my beautiful home city. The sun was out and the leaves looked so pretty.
Ah what a sad but also uplifting visit to the Hospice. Such a kind and beautiful place for you to remember him.
HVDY- Glad Jaffa passed his vets visit with flying colours.
It’s so nice that your he and your DH are becoming friends- what a special cat he is. You are very special parents and grandparents . You put such effort into all you do with them and they have the best times.
I think a lazy day was a good idea - although it didn’t sound too lazy to me!!
Wyllow- maybe after a dressing gown day it is harder to motivate yourself. But still next day you up and showered and did the Wash. What a shame after doing that the “no hope/no point” gremlins crept in. Those thoughts give you so much pain . Your life has a lot of point but it’s been buried by cruel and negative treatment. There is your family with that brave little GD who are there and will still be there when you get well again.

Quite a step forward that Jaffa sat on DH’s knee and is fine with LittleGirl. Good evening there with the GD’s, I recall clued from way back.

I’m so sorry the pain came on so badly Sweetpeasue - and the weariness of knowing it’s part of your life. How sweet of your neighbour. I realise it’s because of the botched procedure - there must be anger that comes back too. Thank goodness for oramorph.

6 months, Doodle. Since that day when you described to us that last day looking out in the peace of the hospice - then you told us xxx..glad to hear of some peace amongst the tears.

I wish I could cry and pray. The only way I can cry a bit is of someone is with me. I had a shower and did a wash today but later felt so much “no point no hope” so took extra meds to take the edge off.

Doodle Yes, the 2 sisters (one lives with her dad, as you know, the other was there for the weekend). Son1 and his GF have been together for 2 years, living together for one. It's good that you feel at peace at the hospice, and that you and your sons can chat about your husband. I hope you rest well tonight.

It's been a lay day, apart from changing beds and doing washing & ironing. Jaffa is very settled and happy, and he's been playing a lot. Hope ALL BDers have a good sleep x

Doodle Hard to believe 6mths have past- I know I've said that before but it's so very true. So sorry for your emotional day but so relieved and glad the peace you experienced overcame all the hurt and sadness , or at least ,that the peace gave you hope and reinforced your strong faith. Hope it was indeed 'The peaces that passes all understanding'. Sending you a warm and gentle hug and prayers that you sleep well tonight.
My problems seem light compared to your own- but just to say ,it's not to do with coffee. Thankyou for trying to help. Had bladder pain with IC before, but after botched procedure got terrible pelvic pain in uterus. I think pain management mentioned something called 'Central Sensitisation' - something to do with the nerve connections to the brain ,firing off long after the cause of pain has gone. Plus the Fibromyalgia increases pain sensitivity anyway.The pain I get feels like huge pressure on a
bruise inside low pelvic area , sort of period pain and bladder pain in one though also a bowel pressure.
Take care of yourself Doodle and I really hope tomorrow you have some good company . You deserve good friends that care and can lighten your sadness a little.x

Evening all. An emotional day for me. Went with sons to hospice as it’s 6 months since DH died. We sat and chatted about him and reminiscing. After they left it was dusk and I went and sat outside in the gentle rain on my own for half an hour or so just thinking and praying and despite the tears it was peaceful.
Sweetpeasue yes I’m still knitting. Another shawl for the prayer group. Your chocolate orange covers sound fun can we have a picture?
Sorry your afternoon was spoilt with more pain. Just a question, do you drink coffee when you’re out? Reason I’ve asked is that I often have a cappuccino and quite often after my stomach gets upset. Just wondered if there was any connection.
HvDY was that the two sisters you had with you? Sounds like they had a lovely time. Jaffa coming round to Mr HVDY by the sound of it. He’s well established now.

Wyllow So sorry for your dismal dressing gown day yesterday. Hoping today has been a little better. Yes it was a good night with Fluff and she settled quite well. Few little whines at first but after coming down and switching on a low light she went to sleep fine.
HVDY Wouldn't like to say what sort of dogs next door .One is a Terrier, I think( they're the sort that make a noise cos they don't get walked!) Aw that's so nice that Jaffa is contented on DHs lap. He looks well satisfied ( Jaffa I mean but sure DH is too!)
YES Fluff was fine and didn't wake till 7-30 which wasn't as early as I thought as DIL gets up earlier for work usually. Lots of cuddles- so nice.

Son asked us yesterday if we'd like to go for dinner when they got back today .
Relieved I'd left it on hold as had bad tum pain which started lunchtime after dropping Fluffball off. We'd gone out for a coffee and started on way back. Had tablets with me but needed oramorph when got back. Honestly, I'm sorry to admit I was in tears with it all as I know there's nothing to be done and all the 'why me's'. Then as I was laid on settee with hot water bottle a neighbour came ( hardly ever happens) ,my face streaked with ran mascara and swollen eyes. She had knit an amazing snowman for me( I'd given her some wool a while back) and honestly I was so heartened. She's such a nice person. So good to have lovely people in the world.

For the 1st time, he sat on DH's knee for 10mins whilst I was in the shower.... He came to me when I came downstairs though

Had a nice evening with the GDs. Played Cluedo, watched tv, played with the dog. Took some catnip for their elderly cat, which she loved.

Doodle Jaffa is fine with LittleGirl. They've got 2 cats at their house, so she's used to not touching them. Jaffa nudges her hand with his nose, though, and I hold her hand to let her stroke him. I hope you do manage to get to the seaside. I bet one of your lovely sons will take you. You're doing well to try to get involved with Christmas.
