Flu jab and feeling grim!

I had both flu and Covid vax on Friday. On Saturday I felt rotten and in bed all day Sunday with a dreadful cold with racking cough and feeling exhausted. Both arms painful, usual reaction for me.

You may well think, as many would, that this was a vaccine reaction…….but I had a bit of a sore throat before both vaxs so I believe I probably had a cold brewing, as there are so many upper respiratory viruses around just now.

I’m glad to be protected and it would not put me off having future vaccines.

Better than getting flu though.

Hubby and I had flu and Covid jabs on Friday and felt grim on Saturday but a bit better on Sunday apart from aching muscles and sore arms.

I had both in the same arm on Friday and apart from slight soreness over the weekend have felt fine.

If you have this reaction -imagine how you'd react to an attack of flu or covid ! .
My GP surgery offered me a flu jab .
Anxious to have one I booked one on Saturday .
I wasn't on their list and neither were many other patients .
There seemed to be yet another change over of staff at reception , but the vaccination programme seemed to be being run by volunteers .
The nurse wasn't keen on my sitting down .
And there was no wait and see policy .
I didn't feel well in the chemist next door .
Got home and crashed out for a eleven hours .

Covid wasn't on offer at my surgery .
I'll phone a pharmacy which is two buses away to get it .
I really don't understand the criteria at my GP surgery .
I'm nearly 72 and have mature onset asthma .
I've had six severe infections over the past year and thought that I was in the at risk group .

I’m a bit of wimp where illness is concerned and would rather have the vaccine any day.

Had flu and Covid jabs on Sat am. Both arms ached a little by the end of the day but not a problem. This am the flu arm is red and a little painful but rather that then the flu.

Oh I think maybe you are just unlucky and hope you feel better soon.
I had COVID and flu jabs recently and apart from arm being sore no adverse effects.

Had the RSV a couple of weeks ago, and no after effects at all, not even a sore arm. Had the COVID and ‘flu jabs today, with no adverse effects so far.🤞

Both arms rather achey and itchy after a few hours, but no other side effects.

I had RSV jab last Monday and nurse said I had to wait 4 weeks before having flu jab.
I had no reaction to RSV, by the way (luckily!)

You can have the covid and flu jabs separately. I am having my covid tomorrow but will book the flu jab separately

Was apprehensive last year to have both flu and COVID jabs together but I was fine. Had them again a few days ago and apart from sore arms for a day or so no problem so far 🤞

I had both mine on Saturday. One in each arm. Other than a bit of tenderness I'm fine. I only really had Covid as I am going on a cruise soon and lots of people seem to have returned with Covid so if I do pick it up hopefully my current jab will stop me being too ill. I've been having the flu jab for many years due to a granddaughter with a lung condition. Never had a reaction to it. I had a worse reaction to the Pneumonia and the Shingles jabs which I had both at the same time too.

My husband has "covid arm". The arm is bright red all over. He feels ok though.

O H and I are booked in for both flu and covid 22nd oct, not too sure about getting both together, but we'll see..

Got younger sons flu jab in september (paid privately) as i wanted him to have it before return to uni-He was fine.Me & other son got it free friday(4th oct) son got up a bit quick after it & felt a bit dizzy, but since been fine- i was ok and still ok- arm a bit sore yesterday (but was sore already, muscle strain & arthritis) so no more than it was to start with.But not got any other issues.Maybe its the flu/covid ones that cause problems? Have booked us all covid jabs separate to flu jab.

Yes we had pneumonia jabs about 4 years ago- felt a bit unwell a couple of days (myself & elder son) but youngest was really unwell for about 2weeks- he couldnt get out of bed & slept most of the time.

My GP surgery has been giving the two together for some time now and I’ve never had a reaction, (neither have I to pneumonia or shingles), but having had them both on Saturday my luck ran out. I had very little sleep on Saturday night, very poorly on Sunday - awful headache, aches & pains and no energy at all. I’m fine now so it was a small price to pay for protection. I think I’m one of the few people I know who has never ( as far as I know) had COVID, I haven’t even had a cough or cold for years.

Being honest I'm now frightened to have any vaccine after serious reaction to all 3 covid ones. I had episodes of shaking uncontrollably down one side for several hours, and passed out unconscious on day 3 after each one.
I should get the flu one as I have COPD but I've never caught flu since my 40s after 6month antibiotic treatment for possible TB, never showed on x-ray. Even when sleeping with OH who had flu a few times. Didn't get the flu jab last year either. Practice nurse told me flu jab is only 40% effective at best anyway. So probably won't get it again this year.

Had both flu and covid on Friday. Flu one seemed a bit painful apparently the "serum" is thicker. About 2 am I wakened up feeling very warm and just thought the weather must have changed quite a bit. Even had the duvet thrown back. Awake all night thinking gosh it has certainly turned warm. 6.30 am before I realised it was the vaccinations probably causing a bit of a temperature and sleeplessness. Until mid afternoon I was really quite out of sorts. All well come Sunday. First time I've had such a reaction.

I am booked in for flu jab only. Not having that horrible covid jab. Did the same last time and the queue for flu only was much longer than for both. So a lot of people must think like me.

Yep.......even more so. I've refused all Covid jabs/always will. Have never had a flu jab either. Despite telling them right at the outset of Covid jabs "Do NOT ever send me an invite for that" I landed up getting 3 invites in total and the third one was very sneaky - as in letter saying "We have made an appointment for your flu jab at this time/that date etc - and, while you're there you can have a Covid one too". Cue for they got yet another telling-off for ignoring my instructions I gave them quite clearly right at the start of all their jabbing.

We had both vaccines at a drive in session on Saturday. Got both in the same arm as you just stick the nearest arm out of the car window! It was the same last year too. I felt really off colour yesterday but DH never suffers. Having had Covid in the past I’m inclined to think the vaccine is the lesser of the two evils.

I had my flu Jab on Saturday, it’s the first one I haven’t had a bad reaction to.
