Recumbent bikes for hips

I’ve been doing knee strengthening exercises and think they have made my hip sore ( I slipped on the stairs a few months ago and one of hips felt sore for ages but it had eased off). So I need to find the right exercises to help my knee and my hip.

My hips are ok (so far) I just find the position uncomfortable, (sitting down, leaning back slightly with your legs horizontal to the pedals)

They are very popular, so please do not be put off by me.

Thank you Granny Gravy . Can I ask what you didn’t like? Apparently upright bikes are not good for the hips so I’m trying to find an alternative .

I use a recumbent bike at the gym, personally I do not like them, DD prefers them to the normal gym bikes.

I started this thread on chat with no luck so am hoping I might reach someone in the know on here !
I have hip arthritis. I read recently that using a recumbent bike helps with strengthening muscles in the area . I’ve never heard of one before so just wondering if any of you have used one and wether it helped?
