Has anyone seen this? I’m a bit concerned as it seems experimental to me.

Based on the search results, some of the influenza vaccines available for the 2024-2025 flu season in the UK do carry a black triangle symbol. Specifically:

The following vaccines are designated as black triangle products for the 2024-2025 flu season in the UK:

1. Adjuvanted quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (aQIV, made by Seqirus)[1]

2. Quadrivalent cell-cultured inactivated influenza vaccine (QIVc made by Seqirus)[1]

3. Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine – High Dose (QIV-HD, made by Sanofi)[3][5]

The black triangle symbol (▼) indicates that these are newer drugs and vaccines for which the Commission on Human Medicines and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency encourage the reporting of all suspected reactions[1].

It's important to note that not all flu vaccines for the 2024-2025 season carry the black triangle symbol. The presence of this symbol on certain vaccines is part of the ongoing safety monitoring process for newer medical products in the UK.

Thank you for posting Nannatwiglet. It’s 2 weeks ago today since I had my flu jab and I’m still suffering.
Hopefully it’ll be gone soon.

Had a flu vaccination 12 days ago. I’m 77. Arm didn’t ache at all. On the 3rd day after the jab, began to feel chilly& tired…as though I had a cold brewing.
After about 7days, felt so tired and washed out I spent a day in bed. Also felt very nauseous and had hot flushes. Have never reacted to a flu jab before. (Although I did to last years Covid one).

Happened to mention this to my Gp when I saw her about another problem. Still not feeling 100%. She said at the practice they had recently seen/heard of a lot of people with similar flu-like symptoms after having the flu jab….which should resolve within 14days.
So….Here’s hoping!

Adjuvanted Sequirus for flu and Moderna for Covid. No adverse reaction to either.

There will always be some side effects for some people.

We had the flu and COVID jabs 2 days before we went on holiday about 2 weeks ago. Four days in DH started to go down with a respiratory infection, which I do not think had anything to do with the jabs. There was quite a chorus of coughs on the tour coach. Two days later I went down with the same infection, but we have both been very unwell with the infection.

On Monday morning, having got home late on Sunday, I had to ring the surgery because DH was so unwell and we actually got a house visit because the doctor agreed DH was too ill to get to the surgery. He was threatened with a hospital admission, but medication managed to avoid this.

As I said, I do nto think there was any link between vaccinations and illness, but I suspect that the very short period bewteen the jabs and developing the infection affected the severity of it.

Had the flu jab in one arm and the covid one in the other. The flu jab made my arm ache a bit but that was it. I felt neither jabs at the time which was good.

Only having flu jab. That’s next week.

henetha Wed 23-Oct-24 10:12:22

Flu and Covid on the 5th October. No reaction at all other than slightly sore arms.
Should we be worried?

glammagran Wed 23-Oct-24 10:10:06

If you view your medical record it will tell you which vaccine you’ve been given.

Kittylester everyone is different of course. For me the Covid Moderna vaccine was far, far worse than on the 2 occasions I’ve had Covid. I thought I was going to have to go to A&E at the height of the 2nd lockdown with excruciating chest pain, trouble breathing and the feeling needles were coming out of my toes. Other vaccinations have caused only very minor side effects.

One in each arm last Wednesday.. no reaction whatsoever.

Grantanow Wed 23-Oct-24 10:00:40

No reaction at all after flu+COVID jabs.

M0nica Wed 23-Oct-24 09:18:17

LadyGracie

I had my flu jab on Thursday 10th October, next day I had a big red very tender raised patch of skin just above my elbow, also a headache, sore throat and chills, it developed into severe cold and chesty cough which is only easing now. I've never had a reaction before.

It could be purely coincidental. A week after we had our jabs, we have both gone down with a severe respiratory infection.

But we have been on holiday, where most of the other people on it were also coughing well. So either everyone on the coach all had the same jabs on the same day - and they came from all over the country, or it is a coincidence.

harrigran Wed 23-Oct-24 08:42:09

I had covid and flu vaccinations together in the same arm, only reaction was soreness at site of injection.

Shelflife Wed 23-Oct-24 08:31:02

Had both Covid and flu vaccinations last Saturday - one in each arm . Only side effects have been what I expected. Sore arm , raised , red and tender. Felt a bit tired on Sunday but other than that I have been fine .

No reaction in either of us to the flu jab, not even a sore arm. Covid later today at our local pharmacy as we prefer to have them separately. I’d rather risk reactions than the real thing.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 23-Oct-24 06:39:48

I had a reaction to the covid jab. Like a 24 hour flu with a very very bad headache. But nothing after the flu jab. Not even a painful arm although the actual jab hurt going in more than usual. I never have them together as I have had a similar covid jab reaction for the last 2 times. Being immunosuppressed after chemo and with a blood cancer I have had many covid jabs, but have only recently had a reaction. I think it's because my immune system has improved recently and reacts.

Redhead56 Wed 23-Oct-24 00:30:01

I had my flu and Covid injections today I feel dreadful I got the shivers a couple of hours ago. I don’t know what is worse the sore arm or the shivers.

Shinamae Wed 23-Oct-24 00:15:54

Had my flu job a couple of weeks ago, absolutely no problem

Cressy Wed 23-Oct-24 00:03:05

I had the flu jab in a Saturday and the Covid the following Wednesday. The next day I woke up with a frozen shoulder. Not quite sure what happened there.

mamaa Tue 22-Oct-24 23:45:08

I definitely had a reaction to the flu jab, 1st time ever. The injection site became raised and very red and I felt very achy and fluey. Lasted about 2 days, injection site remains red for about 3.
Covid arm, no reaction hence why I surmised symptoms were from
the flu jab.

maddyfour Tue 22-Oct-24 23:44:04

I’ve had both already, but not together. I don’t know which I had either, and forgot to ask. Had aching arms after both of them, and also conversely, a very itchy arm with the Covid one. Absolutely fine now though, a week or so later.

Kate1949 Tue 22-Oct-24 23:43:45

We had flu vaccine last week, COVID one today. No reactions for either of us.

Charleygirl5 Tue 22-Oct-24 23:30:47

I have had both but days apart. Not even a sore arm. I never seem to react to any of the vaccines and I have had 9 Covid to date.

kittylester Tue 22-Oct-24 22:02:02

I had vaf reactions to bother the latest flu and covid jabs. Not as bad as the real thing though.

glammagran Tue 22-Oct-24 21:58:13

I’m having mine next Wednesday. I’ve sent a note to our surgery to ask what they are using. I had a very bad reaction to Moderna and have not had another Covid one. I believe the new flu ones are based on mRNA like Pfizer and Moderna.
