Two years ago for no apparent reason I fainted had various tests that flagged up nothing. I am 77, type 2 diabetic and have an under active thyroid. Year later it happened again. Same tests flagged up possible low BP so taken off beta blocker. Thought solved. Fainted again in July. Went to A&E this time. Had ECG, bloods. BP taken. Nothing but doctor advised to go back to GP for investigation. Had appointments for BP 24 hour cuff and 24 hour heart monitor which is in December with results 10-12 weeks later. I remembers I had BP cuff done at pharmacy last time so enquired if they still did it. Had it fitted that day and results sent next day when it was taken off, to my doctor. This showed normal BP but possible AFib. I am experiencing a feeling like when you go over a hill in a car, which makes me want to cough. I’m terrified of having a stroke as it is an AFib possibility with no medication but doctor says heart monitor will show what is wrong and doesn’t want to mess with my
medication. I’m feeling so anxious, which is making matters worse. I live alone so probably over thinking things. I can’t afford to go private so just have to wait it out. Has anyone else had similar experience. No horror stories please, I’m anxious enough. Sorry for saga. I’m feel like I’m going round in circles with nothing being sorted.
