Rabbit rabbit rabbit!

grammargran Thu 30-Jan-25 13:29:45

We’ve got 648 posts, we’re miles ahead in that respect!

grammargran Thu 30-Jan-25 13:27:46

Silverlining, you as an individual or anyone? I’ll keep rabbiting on!

silverlining48 Thu 30-Jan-25 13:14:58

And we are number 4 !

silverlining48 Thu 30-Jan-25 13:14:20

I often wonder if other long term threads have the same problem.

silverlining48 Thu 30-Jan-25 13:13:59

We have reported this many times over the 3 years we have been going but nothing changes.

silverlining48 Thu 30-Jan-25 13:13:10

Grammargran you have to write 3 consecutive posts. Or might be 4. That’s the only way we get on Active for folk to see our thread and know we are here.
We slip down the list very quickly though so then we have to begin again with three consecutive posts.
It’s exhausting smile

Grammaretto Thu 30-Jan-25 11:55:38

Silverlining you just have to keep ringing them!
The surgery have obviously forgotten you so need a gentle reminder. frequently

grammargran Thu 30-Jan-25 11:49:18

Charleygirl and Silverlining, how do you “bump” into pole position? Just curious, I have an enquiring mind ….

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 22:24:41

Bingo, we appear at no.1 on Active .
Blink and you will miss it.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 22:21:50

Pps Am still waiting for promised callback last Thursday from my hopeless surgery. It will be a week tomorrow.
Unacceptable.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 22:17:05

Ps Maizie. I am short so probably do small steps.
Well done to you and your horse. Hope you enjoyed your day out.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 22:14:47

I shoukd have explained, my operation 2 weeks ago was on my jaw….grin
My hip hop was 2.75 years ago. Hence 3.5 miles, I know I can do better and I will. Not just yet but Later!

MaizieD Wed 29-Jan-25 20:51:36

11,500 steps which us about 3.5 miles ish.

According to all the step counters I’ve ever used, that’s more like almost 5 miles, silverlining. Unless you take very small steps 😆

I’ve done 11,000 today (actually, the horse did most of them) and my watch says that’s 4.75 miles.

No wonder your legs feel a bit tired..

Redcar Wed 29-Jan-25 19:58:24

Most of the appointments at my Doctors surgery are with a paramedic who works at the surgery. I didn’t find her especially helpful unfortunately.
grammargran my limit for walking is about half a mile and I ache afterwards! I’m gradually starting to go upstairs normally, clinging to the bannister rail for dear life! I can come down normally now. Like you, I’m not using crutches in the house much now, and I can get out to the garage without them too.
We’re making progress and will get there in the end!

Charleygirl5 Wed 29-Jan-25 18:43:53

Grammaretto Please do not stand on the operated leg alone. If it gives way, you will be a heap on the floor.

Around Christmas, I had been visiting the surgery three times a week to have my dressings changed, and the GP saw my legs twice over three weeks. She then started to do an am surgery from home. I am in a position to describe my wounds but not everybody is. Covid has a lot to answer for because the rot started then.

grammargran Wed 29-Jan-25 17:07:41

Oh goodness, silverlining, Charleygirl, I’m definitely in the same 2% as you two. If I didn’t know better by now, I’d say we were sharing the same surgery, it’s just awful. To be fair, I think it’s the admin, rather than the medical staff. It was so much better when we had a small ramshackle surgery which wasn’t fit for purpose with no parking. A move to a brand new state-of-the-art purpose built medical centre and everything falls to pieces. Fairly OK when we had eConsult but that has stopped & not been replaced, one all purpose telephone line, no other means of contact apart from snail mail - it’s all so one way …

Grammaretto I can’t walk anything like 3.5 miles & my op was just over 11 weeks ago, don’t despair. I am doing more & more around the house without a stick but still can’t stand on operated leg alone for more than about 5 seconds. Wouldn’t dream of walking outside without it. The stairs are still hard going, too.

Grammaretto Wed 29-Jan-25 16:32:14

2 weeks after your op and you walked 3.5 miles! That's amazing Silverlining

I walked about 50yards and was ready to sit down.

That's good about the car Charleygirl .
You are quite right about the responsibility being given to the receptionist answering the phone.

When DH was seriously ill I had to
wail and cry to get to see a doctor.
Although once you had pushed past those border guards, his GP was brilliant.
Unfortunately she has retired.

I was at my sewing class today. I'm making pyjamas reckoning I'll spend a long time in them. 😂😆

Charleygirl5 Wed 29-Jan-25 15:30:48

Not anymore! Maybe this may fleetingly be on that spot, but I give up and will continue to do what I always do: scroll to the bottom and work my way up.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:37:52

And we are ….
Drum roll…. Numero uno 🇺🇳

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:37:04

Yes, going south. Twas forever thus.

Charleygirl5 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:25:21

silver lining may I remind you we are catapulting to our usual place.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:15:39

Let’s give Active a third try …..

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:14:12

Glad your car can be repaired Charleygirl.

silverlining48 Wed 29-Jan-25 14:13:19

Morning everyone, just back from a walk and legs now feel like lead. I had an op two weeks ago so didn’t walk before Christmas or after the op. 11,500 steps which us about 3.5 miles ish. It was a lovely start to the day but us back to grey and miserable now.
Glad to be home, not doing much more today apart from the hairdresser is coming.
