Please go to the doctor, this is not a natural occurrence and in some circumstances a red flag for other things. So if it was out of the blue go and get checked out.

Have a look at Elaine Miller's pelvic floor exercises. She's a great advocate for this.

There are drugs which can be prescribed so please visit your doctor.

I know it is tempting but do not cut down on fluid intake.

Do you go to the loo frequently during the night?

Good luck.

Another vote here for Aldi pads.

I used to wear washable menstrual pads just in case, which were fine, but I have now invested in some M&S period pants which are great. If I sneeze there is no evidence of dampness, all is immediately absorbed. The lacy ones are pretty enough for me, also the No VPL ones are silky which make it so easy to slide on my jeans with my arthritis fingers! I don't think you are ready for proper incontinence pads and pants! If that is the case, then perhaps a visit to the doctor would be advisable.

Aldi pads are good and much cheaper than Tena and better than Lidl ones. There are different types depending on how leaky you are!

I second M & S period pants, much better (and cheaper than Modibodi ) It might be you have a sensitive bladder and you drank coffee or something that made your bladder contract suddenly

Oh no, it's a real pain but you've done well lasting out. I'm going to be 70 next week but have to use the pads for a while. I like the ones from Tena for sensitive skin. They are in a paper packet so you'll spot them easily on the shelves. Also got period pants from M & S. Not pretty but pretty useful.

Another unexpected surprise waiting in store. I have to gauge my getting up very carefully as the same muscles are used for that. Thing is- could you feel it happening. If not a visit to the dr is advisable as it might just be a trapped nerve or something. I've also read that period pants are good and they are less bulky than pad of any description. Also try pelvic floor exercises..................

just stood up after eating an afternoon snack only to find I was sitting in a puddle. not a big one but wet patch on armchair, knickers, and jeans. This is the first time ever! I have recently had my 78th birthday and feel like I have let myself down.
should I go to the doctor? is there anything he can do for me anyway? or do I just get on with it and invest in some incontinence knickers and pads? which ones are best?
