I’m in so much pain with this I can’t hardly move my arm this morning. Waiting for a shoulder replacement and seeing consultant in a week or so, but I’m not sure if I can bare this pain for much longer. Not looking for answers btw! I’ve been awake since 2.00 with pain. I wonder if the consultant might prioritise me as urgent?

See your GP, tell them how bad the pain is and how it’s affecting your sleep. They should be able to offer you something. Sometimes they contact the consultant and you may get seen by them quicker but I believe many hospital waiting lists are dire, it’s worth asking though.

So sorry to hear you are in so much pain, do contact the GP and meanwhile try something heated on your shoulder as you will have got very tense with the pain. I had a replacement shoulder about 5 years ago and you will be fine, hang on in there flowers

If you are not using strong painkillers already, your GP (possibly your pharmacist) will be able to prescribe them. Worth it for sanity!

And if heat doesn’t help with the immediate pain try an ice pack. It may be worth alternating the heat and ice packs. Hope you get some relief soon.

Thanks. I am on the majority of painkillers the gp can prescribe. I did purchase an electric ‘hot water bottle’ which does soothe. I am up and about now and had a bath and can move my arm a little better!

My sympathies genuinely. I went for an MRI last night on my badly torn rotator cuff. I am on naproxen, tramadol and amitriptyline but they don't touch the pain. I know I shouldn't but my husband has been prescribed 10% ibuprofen for his knees and I put this on also to help, it may be psychological but I feel it helps. 💐

My gp has prescribed naproxen which helps, but I also have hypertension and anti inflammatory meds should theoretically not be taken with this condition. I can’t win!
