Reaction to Coamoxiclav

Do you need to take some probiotics with it?

I'm taking Udo's Choice but think the meds are winning! Even tried kefir but can't manage more than one swallow.

At least it isn't the antibiotic that my doctor used to say 'don't take alcohol with this one, if you do you'll wish you'd never been born'.

I would talk to the medical professional who prescribed it for an alternative, or talk to your pharmacist for advice in managing the problem

I can't take it.

Check with your GP tomorrow as some people may be allergic to it, it is a penicillin-type antibiotic.

Always make sure you eat before taking anti-biotics. Not doing so can cause havoc in your gut and make you feel unwell.

Some antibiotics can give you bad stomach aches.

If you get a rash that's more important to stop them and contact ths GP.

Come to think of it, this was consultant prescribed. Might be quicker contacting his secretary to ask for alternative.

Co-amoxiclav is my go-to antibiotic. Having said that a lot of antibiotics cause tummy problems.
I have been having tummy problems since last Saturday due to a prepared salad I ate. On the mend, but will ring the Surgery tomorrow.

Aargh! Phoned surgery just after 8 and all their systems are down! I've to call back in half an hour so fingers crossed it's up and running by then. Thanks for good wishes crazyh
