Anyone waiting for test results

I has a UTI, 3 day course of antibiotics, dropped off a follow up urine sample and thought no more about it. Now I've had a text from the GP that "there are still white blood cells in your urine" and she needs another test.

Fine, but now I need reassurance!

I got sent to my local hospital twice, for a head xray and an abdomen ultrasound. I have spoken to my surgery about results, and am told a practitioner I have never heard of will phone me in 2 weeks to tell me. This sounds like nothing is wrong or they should be more urgent, but it doesn't explain the symptoms they are supposed to be checking

I had a whole thread on the subject of my, still yet properly undiagnosed spots. Situation ongoing since January last year.
The latest GP says it is definitely psoriasis. I have seen about 8 GPs and 2 nurses. The current GP agrees with about the 4th GP I saw.
Currently waiting for..a 3rd lot of photos, with a filled questionaire, has been sent into the dermatology dept.
Supposed to hear back from them by this Friday.

kiwiqueen123 - i will have to do a FIT test. GP has ordered one for me, because of blood in my stool. Hopefully I will be fine and so will your DH . Good luck !

I am going out off my mind with worry. I am 79 , and live alone. I am not coping well .Just went to GP initially feeling a bit dizzy. Feel worse now.

cheznous - it’s easy for me to say, but don’t worry too much . I live alone too. A positive FIT test could mean something very simple like polyps etc. and nothing serious. Your dizziness is probably due to your anxiety.

If you have the patient access app. They often put your test results on there, before they contact you. I always have a sneaky peak at mine

I look up my blood test results as well. However if they are requested by the hospital, even if the blood is taken by the GP nurse, the results dont show up on the patient access app.which is a nuisance. I wish they were all linked up.
It is horrid waiting for results. Hope everyone waiting for theirs gets good results.

Try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done. We're roughly in the same boat here with DH although he had no symptoms. GP did say if the FIT test came back positive it could just be a minor thing, doesn't mean it's cancer. He also has low red cell count.

Good news. DH just had a call from the GP who said all his results are in the normal range but repeat haemoglobin in eight weeks. So relieved..
Will keep an eye on the thread and good luck to all who are waiting. Now, for a large glass of well deserved wine this evening!

I have frequent blood tests due to the blood thinners I'm on. Apparently they damage my liver and kidneys if not kept a very close eye on. So fre1uent tests it is and they have to be done in central London, which involves travelling across London and at least a two hour trip in hospital and home again dealing with the resulting travel sickness, and then feel so bad I either sleep on the sofa or go to bed for a couple of hours. Several of my blood tests came back as ABNORMAL and no further info which sort of freaked me out a bit. I then spoke to a nurse about it, questioning why if they've been ABNORMAL for several years why has nothing been done about it. Her response was "well the good news is that the results are better than previously". Well great but how bad were they 3 years ago and why was the problem never treated.

Yes, they’re often sitting in your NHS account long before anyone contacts you. DH and I have had all sorts of tests recently and the results have all been on there in two or three days (the endoscopy results were given at the end of the procedures). The exception is a dermatology result, which we’ve been told could take up to 8 weeks.

Oddly enough, the dermatology result has just come through. It’s taken 3 weeks, not 8.
