I've had 4 Colonoscopies please don't worry about the test, although you will need to be awake for moving and taking instruction they will give you sedation. Before you know it it will have been done.
My family have an history of bowel cancer my mother and my uncles all died of this.
All the polyps which have been removed from me over the years I am convinced the doctors have saved my life.
The worst thing about having this procedure is the Bowel medication which is taken the day before it is vile.!!!
Best of luck

I had a positive FIT test, and a colonoscopy. Not the best day of my life, but nothing like as bad as I expected. I had the sedation. I have gastritis which is the cause of the bleeding (which is undetectable without a test). My blood count is low too, but I was discharged without treatment.

Try not to worry- these things are by no means always sinister flowers

Just because your FIT test is positive, it doesn’t mean it’s the worst news. It could be something simple, like Polyps etc . The endoscopy is just a precaution
I am roughly your age. I too will be doing a FIT test . The pack is in my hall. I still haven’t read the instructions.
My anxiety levels are through the roof and that is not helping my stomach.
I do empathise. flowers
