who immediately sent well wishes, prayers, kind thoughts and hope to my GN friend's Husband, thank you just isn't a big enough phrase.

Yesterday, after days of anxiety and worry, of times when he seemed to be just fading - he turned a corner.

Ir's very early days - he's still tube-fed, but alert, interested, smiling and even attempting 'phone conversation! If the tube can go - he can start rehab and therapy to try to rebuild a new life. His Wife is beyond grateful for your kindness - all of you - and please don't stop those healing thoughts you've had for him and his family. They mean so much.

What a thoughtful, empathetic, selfless bunch you all are!
Of course you are.............you're Grans. (So, love to you x)

Just back from my hospital appointment and lovely news to come back to. May he continue to improve and ithey are lucky to have great friends like you to rally the troops. When we look at appalling behaviour like D Trump isnt it good to see how many people think of others and wish them well? Carry on GN's being a great cushion and help for each of us when we need it. Lovely news on a lovely afternoon.

I am glad to have been able to add my own prayer for your friend's DH. Being a person who rarely prays these days I am so glad that I still believe that someone or something listens - even to folks like me.

May he continue to improve. xxxx

A cheery wave from me in Spain, away on a break but still receiving the regular bulletins from my friend whose Husband was so very ill after a brain bleed!

Well, all the prayers and hope, love and well wishes sent by so many of you dear Grans have helped beyond measure.

Since my last update, he has got so much stronger. His Wife arrived at the hospital one morning a few days ago, to find him sitting on a bench between two Physios, practising his balance with an arm outstretched. He was then moved into a chair and he was able to sit upright for 45 minutes!

Maybe it’s the tea, I thought, because he’s been quite desperate for a proper drink but, of course, thin liquids swallowed mean a clear risk of some fluid escaping into his lungs and then pneumonia. So tiny spoonfuls only and everything, including food, needs to be puréed and ‘gloopy’. His wonderful Wife just makes all his favourite meals and then takes them in puréed. Maybe they don’t look very tempting, but even puréed bacon & eggs taste delicious followed by rhubarb yoghurt and seem to be doing the trick in encouraging his appetite.

The staff person in charge of ‘swallowing’ then promised that if he practised with very small sips for a few days, no choking or problems, he could have some tea. Well, he’s done it…..and is now allowed to properly drink that as well as coffee and water.

These are mighty steps. But……tomorrow and Tuesday, he will be properly assessed and if he passes the tests and can formally do without his tube, this will be a huge milestone, as his Rehab will then start. So, wish him well, please. We’d be so grateful. The volume of your support, which he knows about, will make a huge difference and help to keep up morale.

And, as always, for your selflessness, compassion and concern, thank you so very much. Love and gratitude sent to you all. 😘

Sorry - for bacon & eggs, read ‘liver and bacon’. Must get the menu correct. 👨🏻‍🍳

Grandmafrench that's such good news. He's a long road ahead but it sounds like he's a very determined character! All my best to him.
Enjoy Spain.

Bluddy wonderful news GrandmaFrench! Reading this made me fill up.
I hope he continues to make sterling progress. I can only imagine the joy and relief his dear wife must be feeling.
It’s chastening too isn’t it?
To be so very grateful for our own good health.
We are all guilty of rushing around, sometimes moaning, taking this very precious life too much for granted.
I’m so delighted to read your latest update it’s so heartening!

Such good news Grandmafrench. He sounds to have a very positive mindset, and although there’s quite a way for him to go yet, his determination is going to stand him in good stead.

Thank you for the update. I’m so pleased to read your news about him.
