I've found turmeric capsules very helpful and my husband takes a little turmeric shot every morning

I have hip arthritis and wondered about the tumeric. I will try it.

Hi Sallywally, I'm sorry to hear you are suffering with this pain.
I have osteoarthritis in my lower back and recently my hip, it's very painful and limiting isn't it.
I try and add turmeric to as many things as I can and I try and avoid processed foods as much as possible. I always aim to drink 5 pints of water a day plus my usual cups of tea.
I've recently joined a gym. I think the movement is key. Low impact cardio machines and I also use the weight machines to try and build muscle.
Motion is lotion for the joints they say. Use it or lose it. These are my daily mantras.

I too have widespread osteoarthritis, I take turmeric and magnesium supplements and try (being operative word!) to keep active, I also have fibromyalgia and CFS, it tough, but I try hard not to give up. I find stretching exercises and heat pads also work well and for very pain pain Volterol (?) rub.

I've found the nightshade family really affects both osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia pain. I get some strange looks when I refuse roast potatoes but I know they just aren't worth it.

I was told anything citrus is very bad so if you have oranges and grapefruit give them a miss.

The nightshade family, you might be one of the susceptible people

aubergine, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes

Grain fed meat is inflammatory better to have oily fish. No sugar. There are other `foods` that cause inflammations

Plenty more anti-inflammatory foods you can eat

You are right to be looking for the causation

There is a free Zoe podcast on this subject. Might be worth you seeking it out.

I think tomatoes are to be avoided if you have osteoarthritis. I have it in my hip and it can be very painful so you have my sympathy

Has anyone found any particular food/supplement to ease arthritis. Whilst I am still waiting for my shoulder replacement I can feel ominous aches in other joints. I try to swim most days, don’t smoke or drink anymore. Any suggestions? I’m afraid it will get worse and worse . I am 69.
