Hi everyone
I am recovering from 2 weeks of antibiotics for an infected cyst followed swiftly by facial shingles. It’s all dried up now, I’m pleased to say and I expected the pain to take longer to go, but I am so tired!
Have you experienced this sort of post viral fatigue?
Does anyone have any advice please? I’m planning a very light week but wondered whether there is anything else that might help?
Thanks

I have had shingles and suffered from the same fatigue. Do rest as much as possible, shingles takes time to recover from even when the blisters have all dried up. Lingering fatigue is not unusual. I took over the counter tonic Feroglobin, but Metatone has helped when I have suffered post viral fatigue before.
And basically just make sure you eat well and exercise a little every day. But be kind to yourself, sometimes we need patience when getting over an illness like the shingles.

Thanks Babs03
I am familiar with ferroglobin so that’s good to know.

Yes, any viral infection can knock our systems for six, and shingles especially. Add to that your course of anti-biotics- no wonder you have fatigue!

Your body needs time to get itself sorted so yes, rest especially good quality sleep, healthy diet, gentle exercise and kindness to yourself are all in order! Hope you are back to normal soon, but don't rush it!

Yes, the spots dried up and the pain went but I felt washed out for a good week after I had shingles a few years ago, and it was just a small patch on my back.
I didn’t think of a tonic but it would have been a good idea.

I found I needed to keep the area that had been affected out of the sun as the nerve ends were still sensitive so some facial sunscreen might help you too.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yes, to my surprise my face felt like it was burning when I sat outside for a cuppa on Friday so that’s sounds like good advice lixy. Thanks
