Interestingly, DD and all the family in Bristol are suffering the same thing. Fortunately it’s getting better now.

I take antihistamine in ant case as I seem now to suffer from pollen etc at least 7 months of the year.

I was in the bank today and the young lady that helped me and had been toLondon recently. She was coughing and told me her symptoms were pretty much like mine! I did wonder if it might be a new Covid variant.

Thank you all for your suggestions

I too wondered if the runny nose and eyes was a pollen allergy ( on top of the chest illness) If you are OK with antihistamines it might be worth a dose to see if it helps? I’ve had similar ‘ back to front- not a cold ‘ symptoms one day chesty another eyes and nose streaming and sore throat by every evening. The tree and oil seed pollens are all out at once at present.

The pollen rate is very high here. Could that be aggravating your symptoms? I take antihistamine and use a Sterimar nasal spray.

Might the runny nose be caused by a post nasal drip and using a Beconase nasal spray might help?

I wonder if the first illness lowered your immunity and made you vulnerable to a second one. Hope you soon feel better, it sounds miserable.

I’m suffering from a very runny nose that came on yesterday with no warning. However, I caught a cough last weekend from DGS’s girl friend. She thought her tight chest was due to giving up smoking.

The cough - for three days my chest /breathing was very tight and uncomfortable. On Wednesday I started coughing and by Thursday pm my chest was very sore and still is. I had some prescribed antibiotics for chest infections, a just in case measure, as I have mild COPD. By Friday I felt more comfortable.

I’m now sitting here with my nose pouring and very sore eyes through lack of sleep. I feel a bit sorry for myself!

Has anyone else had a back to front virus recently?
