Another COVID vaccine?

What’s everyone’s feelings about having ANOTHER COVID vaccine please? I’ve had them all up to now and was quite adamant that I didn’t want any more. Now I read that there’s a different strain making its way round. I really can’t decide, any suggestions?

I have every vaccine I can.Hope those who are not having them are not expecting NHS treatment if they get Covid and need it...unbelievable how selfish people are.

Covid is rife in my area,my friend who is to young to be offered the vaccine is really poorly with it at the moment, this strain is causing horrid stomach issues.

I don't understand why people wish others ill purely on their personal choice whether to have a vaccine. It isn't a crime to decline it.

A report has come out from Japan that says the more you have the more likely you are to get Covid.

Do you have a link to the report please?

I would like to see that report too, thanks.

Thanks. I just found it, so you saved me a post. SpringsEternal You should be careful about what you read o social media. If possible, always go back to the source.

Thank you. Social media fake news then.

I certainly believe in vaccines, couldn’t wait to get this one. I have my flu vac every year. This vaccine made me poorly, my digestive system went to overdrive, chronic burping for hours on end, (my friends husband same after his) both still like this, to this day.
My husband had a blood clot in his calf, shortly after his first vaccine, cholesterol normal, bp normal, non smoker, slim, good diet & hardly drinks.
I have had four vaccines.

Where would the world be if there were no vaccines. We would still have the dreaded smallpox around and polio and TB. Everyone should take advantage of any vaccine on offer, although I do have sympathy for those who get side effects from them

I had a TB vaccine aged five. Always wondered whether I needed a booster as I am 60 now.

As someone who worked as a scientist for a pharmaceutical company I would advise people to have the latest jab if possible. If you think you have contraindications discuss it with your GP. If you were unwell for a couple of days when you had the jab before just think how ill you would be with COVID.

growstuff Wed 18-Jun-25 18:06:00

Mt61 I'm sorry to hear that your husband was possibly one of the unfortunate ones. Nevertheless, it's worth bearing in mind that Covid itself causes blood clots. Vaccines can mitigate against them. There is so much data about the risks, which has shown that people are more likely to catch Covid and go on to develop blood clots than develop blood clots from the vaccines.

Yes, it was given to us at secondary school, if we shown not to be immune, I presume it still is. If you have never had a test to see if you need a booster I would ask your GP. I know somebody my age who had TB, she was very ill indeed with it, and took months to recover.

"So many nonsense beliefs" in YOUR dismissive opinion only MOnica.

I, for one, would certainly welcome a definitive, meta analysis of the efficacy of the vaccine across the board if you're able to post any relevant papers please.
As with all medication, one size doesn't fit all.

OK, so many statistically uninformed beliefs.

We had the original strain of Covid in 2020 and we weren’t well. I’ve had the first 3 inc the booster my husband has had four and was worse every time with the vaccine than Covid. That’s enough for us. I always have my flu jab every autumn though. I am pleased my elderly mother always takes every jab offered. My elderly stepmother won’t have any more she only had two. She’s also never had Covid that she knows about. Everyone is different and I would never criticise anyone even if they have had none. Each to their own.

You are right. She does sound very aggressive.

Etoile2701 Wed 18-Jun-25 19:33:22

I have had 11. I am nearly 80.

Thanks for the links you posted growstuffreally appreciate all information on scientific research.

Cadenza123 Wed 18-Jun-25 19:52:37

No, no more for me.

debslosjoe Wed 18-Jun-25 20:37:57

I had no vaccines b

FranP Wed 18-Jun-25 21:08:50

I wish! My hubby is on the vulnerable list, but I do not qualify, but it was me who was so very ill with it even after the first dose.

I wish they would offer out the unwanted ones to us

Of course it isn't a crime. But all scientific studies will explain that herd immunity can only be achieved if over 80% and preferably more, take up the vaccine.

A massive issue with Measles and other childhood diseases returning, after all the scarmongering about the MMR, Andrew Wakefield.

TwinLolly Wed 18-Jun-25 21:37:54

I had two, in order to be able to travel, but I've not had any more, and won't.

theworriedwell Wed 18-Jun-25 21:53:27

My husband had his last week. I'm not eligible for another yet, I think it's by age. I had COVID badly, then long COVID. The thing I'm left with it itching on my legs, it's driving me insane. Nothing helps, GP can't think of anything else to try. I try not to scratch but sometimes wake up with deep scratches. I wish I didn't have to live with this. I usually I itched all over but now it is just knee to ankle.

Menopauselbitch Wed 18-Jun-25 21:56:40

I can’t believe people aren’t reading about the higher rates of myocarditis and the law suits that are happening. No more for me.

Robin202 Wed 18-Jun-25 21:57:50

I never had any and never would. I’ve heard of so many people who have had seriously adverse reactions, heart and neurological conditions soon after their vaccinations and sadly I know of four people in my circle who developed cancer soon after and at an advanced stage too.
Several countries have suspended the covid vaccine due to blood clotting and heart conditions.
