Glad it now sounds OK.. With a THR the cut will be at the outside of your thigh reaching into your butt, shouldn't interfere with your "undercarriage" but let the team know just in case.
Best of luck.. Visit the Hip and Knee section, brilliant advise on there.
Best of luck

I'm not bleeding any more and my bladder specialist said my perineum is not infected. Hope that's OK?

I would tell the hospital too.
You do not want the surgery to go wrong.
Even my dentist won't work on my teeth near my surgery appointment!

Hopefully the medication will work soon. Sorry you are in so much discomfort.

If there’s any infection \open sores there you must tell them. Particularly anal.

They may have to delay your surgery. This is for your safety. Please seek advice.

Oh poor you. Will they do the hip surgery with open wounds? Probably need to tell the hospital.
I went to knee school last week & said to report any cuts & open sores.

I'm 2 weeks away from a total hip replacement. For over 2 weeks I've been trying to get a sore perineum and anal fissures to heal up.

I'm sore, itchy and uncomfortable on top of the hip pain. I've been using ovestin pessaries and anusol suppositories (both prescribed) for over a week now and I think it's helping.

How long should it take to clear up? I'm impatient as I need it gone before I start on the next round of pain post-op and don't need this hanging around.

The heatwave doesn't help and I'm trying to wear skirts / dresses to get some air (sorry but you know what I mean!).
