For the support and understanding and sharing of mental health issues. We treat each other with kindness . All are welcome here

Ellie Anne Thu 24-Jul-25 22:04:48

Can this week get any worse? Have just been scammed with my credit card and feel incredibly stupid.

Sweetpeasue Thu 24-Jul-25 20:52:58

Doodle I'm glad you've been with a friend today. I've never been to Reading but gather it's a lovely place. I'm afraid I've never been further South than South Wales. I do hope I've not brought to the fore unwelcome memories for you ,I should have thought. Sleep well.
Nadateturbe At Brysons cafe the plum bread came on hot plates ,piping hot with spreadable butter and wonderful marmalade. We have simple tastes.
Thankyou for your kind concern and prayers. You have so much yourself.
The sky tonight has beautiful clouds. Wish I could paint. Night God bless

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 20:17:22

Doodle just nice to hear from you. Glad you had some company. Have a good rest. Goodnight God bless.x

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 20:14:56

Sweetpeasue what a lovely day you've had. I'm so pleased for you. And a better night. I hope you sleep better tonight too. Maybe all the fresh air will help. DH shouldn't have been dismissed. He clearly needs more help, but try to relax and enjoy now. Lovely photos, beautiful area. I must get my son to bring some of the plumbread next time he visits.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 20:06:14

Loo! 😀

Doodle Thu 24-Jul-25 20:05:01

Evening all. You’ve all written such long posts but I’m afraid I can’t keep up. Pain when typing is still a problem but today it’s pleasant exhaustion. I went with a friend to Reading. We went shopping and had lunch. Walked around the shops for a couple of hours. I am shattered.
Scaredycat glad you had your eyelid seen to and it’s ok to keep a watch on the it. Good news. What a lovely time you had with your GD and GGC . I bet your GD is a popular teacher.
Sweetpeasue feeling unable to breathe is scary. DH had several panic attacks in his hospital stay when he felt he couldn’t breathe properly. I can understand how you and your Dh must feel. Thanks for the lovely photos. Glad you are getting out and about.
nadateturbe hope you can get the MRI scan I don’t blame you for not wanting a lumbar puncture,
HvDY your meal at the day centre sounds nice. Made me laugh about Jaffa nudging you to make you stroke him. Remember when he was very wary of getting close to anyone
Wyllow. Glad you got your hair appointment. Hope you are pleased with the result.
Ellie Anne thinking of you and sending hugs,

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 20:02:47

HVDY I have to get up for the loo ooo. I often wonder would I sleep all night if I didn't have to pee. I've thought of maybe not drinking after 6pm and seeing if that makes a difference. What do you do? I usually do puzzles or read. Lemon cake and cream, lovely. Jaffa sounds so sweet. Next doors cat used to do that with me.
How ungrateful of that lady. My daughter and her friend used to wait excitedly for friends mother to come home from school on last day to see the presents.

Sweetpeasue Thu 24-Jul-25 19:18:42

For Nadateturbe

Sweetpeasue Thu 24-Jul-25 19:17:56

DH and I as captains.

Sweetpeasue Thu 24-Jul-25 19:16:44

Scaredycat My photo of Tarn How wasn't the best as cloudy day. Do Google images as its the most beautiful place.
Have a lovely time with great memories when you go back to your home county by the sea. You pack so much into your life and live to the ful( despite AF).
Wyllow No ,don't worry. It was myself brought it up in first place.
My ,you've tackled Striding Edge in bad weather! 😱 So brave. Ruskin's house is amazing and Wordsworth's tiny, tiny cottage in Grasmere before he purchased his larger home which is still open to public.Hope your new haircut is nice.
HVDY Nice meal there at day centre.
Aw Jaffa needing strokes every time you get up at night. He really loves you it's so sweet after Mr Cooper. He must have been meant for you. I had a chalazion once - it was a real 'eyesore' and was glad when it went after a few mths.
Nadateturbe I hope you'll soon be able to get a diagnosis by MRI . Anything that can help alleviate all your painful conditions and make life more bearable for you.
Thanks ,last night better. I think DH should never have been dismissed by Vascular when his partly blocked Subclavian artery is causing problems.
I took a photo of Brysons Plum Bread for you.
Doodle Hope today has been kind to you and you have had some lovely friends for company.
EllieAnne Been thinking about you and hope you are coping . Love ❤️

Actually managed to get a boat on Windermere today. Lovely weather. Then to Bryson's cafe and back to house in garden. So tired I slept 2hrs.
Photos of lovely place were at which is heaven .

Hoping you all have been OK and love to all and those not mentioned.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 17:32:55

HVDY I'll see if I can do it with MRI. Medics all acknowledge lumbar puncture isnt ideal.
Scaredycat forgot to say, good news nothing serious wrong with your eye.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 24-Jul-25 17:28:20

Wyllow3 You were lucky to get such a quick appointment. What did you have done to your hair? The layers in mine need cutting again. It grows quite quickly. It's been dull and overcast here, about 23 degrees and clammy.

SweetpeaSue Sorry your husband has been having that chest heaviness again. Does the angina spray make any difference? Try to enjoy your holiday as much as you can.

ScaredyCat How nice to spend time with your granddaughter and her children. What does she teach? Or does she work in a primary school? There was a teacher on Facebook recently, complaining that she's sick of getting mugs, flowers and cakes from the pupils - ungrateful, I think. Hope you have a lovely holiday. I wonder if the place has changed much since you were there as a child?

nadateturbe I usually have to get up once or twice, for a wee. It often takes me an hour or more to get back to sleep (as was last night). Each time I get up, Jaffa wakes then keeps nudging my hand to be stroked - that can take 15 minutes! He's so fussy.

Day centre today - Spanish chicken, new potatoes and salad, then lemon sponge and cream. Hope everyone has been ok x

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 24-Jul-25 17:14:22

ScaredtyCat I'm glad your appointment went well and that you haven't got to have anything done. I wonder if it's a chalazion? Whatever it is, it's not serious, thankfully.

nadateturbe I think it's worth trying to get a diagnosis, one way or another. That way, you'll know what you're dealing with. Diagnosing MS by using an MRI machine would be better than the present method. QMC in my home town - it's a teaching hospital, so I expect they're discovering things all the time.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 15:35:48

Hello Doodle hope you are all right.x

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 15:34:57

Another reminder about enjoying simple things. Thanks, Scaredycat.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 15:33:49

What a lovely time you had yesterday with GD abd GGDs. Teachers get so many gifts. I'm sure your help was appreciated! And now going to your home county. You sound like you are really looking forward to it. Have a lovely time.
I do still paint, but very short spells. I get tired and my eyes get strained very quickly. Very odd.
I will pass that info on to my son about NeilMed sinus rinse. Worth a try.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 15:25:52

Sweetpeasue I hope last night was better. Its awful having a crushing feeling in your chest constantly. I can't understand no-one diagnosing it quickly and doing something for him. It must be a huge strain trying to live with it and get some enjoyment. I hope when you get home you can make someone take action. How is today going? Sending hugs xx

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 14:45:08

HVDY Are you often awake during the night? There's nothing worse than continual disturbed sleep. Its so important. I wish Doctors would stop reminding us!
You made me laugh about the snoring in hotels. We spent many nights banging on my sons bedroom wall.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 14:35:03

We love the Lakes too, Wyllow3. it's very accessible from NI. Have been to Wordsworths house and Beatrix Potter.

nadateturbe Thu 24-Jul-25 14:29:37

Wyllow3 sounds like a very productive and satisfactory appointment today, that went just as you hoped.
The view looks spectacular from your parking place.
I used diazepam when having an MRI. Think they're fine occasionally. Advert-free YouTube sounds good, they can be very annoying, quite costly though.
Thank you for taking time to post your advice, very kind of you. It's good and will be helpful. I try to stay positive, but its not always easy. I will copy and save what you wrote and refer to it.
I prefer my own bedroom too. I always did prefer sleeping alone, but when I was young people would have been shocked if couples slept alone. With M.E. it's essential. .I think my DH loves his own space too. Many people do nowadays. You were ahead of the times.

Scaredycat Thu 24-Jul-25 11:57:08

Hi all
SweetPeaSue- yes you can harness that anger when you get back but in the meantime enjoy everything that beautiful area has to offer.
I don’t know Tarn How’s but it looks lovely- maybe next time. Thank you for the photos.
Sorry DH had disturbed sleep - hopefully the fresh air will help him rest easier. Does he have a raised pillow?
HVDY- you and Jaffa must be so happy in your big bed. My DD only has a normal sized bed and they have both cats with them at night!!
My DH uses a NeilMed Sinus Rinse for another problem but a side effect was it helped his awful snoring immensely. He is a bit, claustrophobic so could never use a CPAP.

Wyllow- the High Peak is so beautiful- my Sis lives there and loves it with a passion.. Fly High Wyllow!!
So glad the appt went well.
You are right the little things in life are what make us happy. A smile, any animals, puddles, sun on the sea, people old and young the list is endless. May you always enjoy them .
Sometimes you just have to have a DVD that you can keep- Dances with Wolves is my favourite.
Doodle- another warm hug from me.
Nadateturbe- are you still able to paint sometimes? I remember you sending us a lovely photo of a painting you,d done of the mountains.

Yesterday afternoon we went to have tea and cakes with my GD1 and the 2 GGC. She is a teacher and had had so many goodies as end of term presents - we went to help her out!! It was so good to have a couple of hours of silliness and laughter.GGD will be a teenager next year so it’s nice she can still be daft sometimes.
Saturday we are off to my home county for a couple of weeks by the sea. Many memories of childhood will surface . DH doesn’t know that coast well so hopefully will love it too. It feels like home so I,ll be comfortable being away.

Love to all BDs and any who just read . Hope you’re having the best day you can

Wyllow3 Thu 24-Jul-25 10:25:48

It's regrettable they cant be panic attacks, Sweetpeasue, as although they are not at all nice, better than your concerns. sorry to bring it up, better not to have done.

I just want you both to have as much of a break as possible, what is the weather like today? Do tell us where you have been if possible, I want to see if I recall places, and hoping for sun for you.

Can't chat more - went to bed late as I found my very favourite film of all time - its "Red", in the "Three colours" series by Krzysztof Kieslowski and yes I did have to look it up. I bought it from Prime to keep and will probably buy the other two as well.

Must get going, its hairdresser at 11.30 am.

May all BD's have the best day they can. Here, it's mostly sunny intervals, and a nice 20 degrees or so.

nadateturbe Wed 23-Jul-25 22:40:40

Missed your post Wyllow3. Talk tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone. Hope it's a peaceful one for you all. xx

Sweetpeasue Wed 23-Jul-25 22:28:10

Wyllow Such beautiful photos, I'm sure it did your spirit good to see that . Photos never do justice to actual being there either .
No DH does not have panic attacks. He feels the crushing tightness in his chest practically constantly but worse during the night.

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Wyllow3 Wed 23-Jul-25 22:20:05

Oh my, thank goodness you posted that, Scaredycat....

Phew!

Great news.

Sweetpeause we cross posted when I was writing my post. With all others here, I'm hoping the (cross fingers) decent weather will continue. I'm so sorry DH had a bad turn - and it's difficult as you can't easily tell if it's a panic attack or a physical problem. All of us who have had serious panic attacks know only too well the heart pounding and dizziness and freezing up.

No wonder you want to rule out anything wrong with his heart - but its worth treating it as a possible panic attack for now as you can do something about that.

Please post more pictures. I love the lakes. When I used to live in Manchester thats where we headed for years, its where we went for A level geography, its where me and first DH used to go once or twice a year...Its where there was a lodge when I did my Outward Bound teacher training, Striding Edge in poor weather, Wordsworth's house, Ruskin's house.. scree running...

Doodle - just a warm hug, as we cannot take away the pain, just "Walk with you".

Having arrived home, I'm writing tomorrow's must do's, and unbelievably, I snagged an appointment tomorrow morning! At the branch of my hairdressers at the gym ...I've seen her work for about 10 years at least, and my hair had reached that sudden "must be cut now point.
