Contacting GP Surgery

Our surgery has gone from being able to phone for an appointment at any time to having to phone at 8.30 am, to only phoning at that time in an emergency and 11.00 for everything else. Now it is only via the NHS app or the surgery website. Luckily at eighty I am able to use the NHS app and have just got myself a September appointment but like many other people including my DH if he was alone, it would be impossible. Obviously emergency situations are covered but it is so unreasonable to cut communication in this way.

Are you sure there's not an alternative?
Maybe those who have never used the app will go on being able to phone?

Our surgery allows patients to use alternative means of booking appointments if they are not able to use technology.

I am sitting at my pc right now waiting for 7 am when I can send an engage consult message! It’s all ready to copy and paste.

When I phoned last week expecting the usual options for booking an appointment, obtaining test results or talking to someone on the prescription line, there was only one option and that was to cancel an appointment or told to use the NHS app or surgery website. I don't know if there's an alternative as I can't speak to anyone!
