Crazy H: Michael Mosley always spoke about kiwi fruit for sleep and he used investigate everything thoroughly.
Good luck

I seem to get up once or twice during the night to go to the loo and then can't always get back to sleep. I take an antihistamin Piriton tablet now and again, and this really gives me a good nights sleep.

??? That is like saying the television you watch most is a TV. The two words Iingerie and un.derwear mean exactly the same.

Neither of them is relevant to getting rid of beIIy fat. Only used here to squeeze two eye-catching words into the same sentence, with the aim of selling us snake oil once our attention is caught. Sorry, pal, we are mostly ladies of a certain age, we are not as obsessed with knicks and knockers as the beer-belly-owning blokes on most Social Media sites.

Magnesium tablet an hour before bed has been a total game changer for me with sleep quality and restless legs! I use the Nutrition Geeks 3-1 glycinate and can thoroughly recommend!

Don’t know about RLS sorry. But for my tinnitus ( constant since an accident when I was 19). I can thoroughly recommend BBC sounds. I sometimes put The sleeping Forecast on. There are variations on this, a play on The Shipping Forecast with different added music and sounds. But you can also choose from different meditative music and sounds think mature, waves, water etc.
And there are audio books. Your choice is huge.
I also take phenergan.

For Restless Leg Syndrome try tying a sock around the foot or feet , I've been told the results are dramatic.

Kiwi Fruit ? I will definitely try that for my sleep problems - I didn’t know - I love kiwi fruit -thankyou

Like Lupatria I also have a radio on all day.

For restless legs I take Gabapentin and Codeine phosphate (on prescription), also magnesium tablets and magnesium cream when my legs start up. Also Kalms Night tablets, in the (mostly vain) hope that I will drift off to sleep before the legs kick in. I also have a calf massager for when it gets really bad.
There is a Facebook group for restless legs if you are interested. Good luck.

Like Babs I have Menieres and tinnitus and always have a radio on, set to go off after an hour which takes my mind from the rushing noises in my ear.
As a fall back I use 10 mg of phenerghan.

Lupatria Sat 13-Sept-25 14:19:45

i have tinnitus and was told never to be anywhere silent. so i have the radio on in the day [then tv in the evening] and at night my tv plays one of the music channels very quietly. all this is sufficient to stop me thinking about the tinnitus and it disappears.

Your Dr can help with restless legs my friend takes medication now and hasn’t had any problems with them for years now.

Please could you let us know what the medication is? I use a Therapulse muscle massage device for RLS - they cost about £40 in the UK. I find it very helpful, but not a complete cure. Magnesium supplements also help. RLS can really interfere with quality of life!

I eat kiwi. I sleep well.

There was a sleep expert on Jamie Oliver's new healthy eating series this week. He recommended eating 2 kiwi fruit an hour before bedtime for its melatonin/seratonin help to sleep. I tried it last night and slept right through for the first time in years! Possibly coincidence as I had had a particularly bad sleep the night before. I shall give it another try tonight.

For tinnitus I use a white noise machine as recommended above.

I get bouts of tinnitus with Ménière’s syndrome, when I couldn’t sleep at night I finally resorted to playing something they use for babies, is called white noise but you can choose from an Amazon rainforest or low soothing music, I got a little machine you plug in from amazon. It helps you to stop focussing on the noise in your head.
All the best.

DH wasn’t into alternative meds, but with his RLS getting worse at night, he said he’d try anything. I got him Rhus Tox. The improvement was dramatic.

Netherbyg84 Thu 11-Sept-25 08:54:11

Mandy you could try over the counter antihistamines, the kind that cause drowsiness like Piriton.
