I used to take glucosamine but stopped as I have Dupuytrans in my hand and it can exacerbate it. I went on a one day course at the hand clinic because of arthritis in my thumb joints; although, to be honest, they didn’t give me any advice that I wasn’t doing anyway they did give me some very simple exercises that really work. I certainly do them whenever my hand hursts and should really do them all the time. I do take turmeric but only because I’m not on blood thinners. Vit D and magnesium. I have some fingerless gloves that I bought from Boots that have been very helpful ( annoyingly I’m away from home and have forgotten to pack them). When I rub Voltarol on my arthritic knee I leave it on my hand ( but you mustn’t expose the skin to the sun). I used to take cod liver oil and I might start taking it again.
The same thing happened to me but I managed to stop the progress with a short course of radiotherapy, but I stopped the glucosamine and collagen supplements. The only thing I take now is vit D in the winter and milk thistle to support my liver as I drink alcohol.
