Hi.
Very late to the post but hopefully may be of some help to someone.
I have these too and for me they are linked to very high cholesterol, the 'sticky' genetic family failing kind. As diagnosed by specialist on both fronts.
Since taking complete cholesterol production blocker (not a statin, specialist said these are more or less like taking smarties 😆 they are so useless) in the morning before food and going all out on beetroot etc and importantly dealing with other medicines I was taking that made cholesterol worse (levothyroxine) they are going down slowly.
I highly recommend getting a full cholesterol check with specific request for sticky version to be included to be on the safe side. Info on sticky cholesterol here: www.heartuk.org.uk/genetic-conditions/high-lipoproteina
Obviously could be different cause for others but worth considering.
