I don’t suppose you will be in hospital long and would be wearing one of their attractive wraparound outfits while you are there. Good luck 🤞

Thanks for the help. My main concern is whilst I am in hospital (hopefully only one night).

After my shoulder replacement I wore extra large t shirts in bed and out, no bra to start with. I agree about pulling jumpers over your head to get off.
I was supposed to have lots of physio but covid put paid to that. Do whatever exercises you are given
Good luck

It is difficult. I had a shoulder replacement and at first had to have help with dressing. I have several dresses with buttons down the front and I use crop tops for bras which I could step into and pull up. I was allowed to take the sling off to dress. I was in agony for a couple of weeks so I sympathise. I found it easier when getting undressed to pull a top over my head if that makes sense. Luckily for me it was summer so fewer clothes needed.

My mother-in-law lost the use of one arm after a stroke.
She slept with it propped on a pillow rather than in a sling at the advice of the consultant who wanted ig raised.

She wore fairly loose cardigans over t-shirts.
Now she has some movement and more choice.

I hope it works out well for you.
🤞

I don’t have any personal experience to offer but the above information sheet may help you. I think I would go for a big loose T-shirt and elasticated trousers.

A big stretchy Tee shirt?
I had a shoulder operation a few years ago but don’t remember having a problem with clothing….
Good luck anyway, and keep up the exercises, I was told my shoulder would freeze if I didn’t. So I did.

Can anybody tell me what to wear whilst in hospital after a shoulder operation? I have had hand operations and have come back from theatre with one arm out of the gown and been left (embarrassingly) trying to cover myself up until my husband visited and helped me but as your arm is in a sling what do you wear to sleep in or the next day?
