I was like that a few years ago and it was caused by vaginal atrophy.

Iam64

I’m on referral for a prolapse which is making urge incontinence worse
I know I should do pelvic floor exercises
I wish the nhs did more - classes for us might save in the long run

I have a prolapse too and am waiting to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
I get anxious sometimes if I'm out walking and feel that awful urge. I try to do my kegel exercises and it's worked so far but there's always a worry that it won't.

My doctor has prescribed an oestrogen cream which I apply twice a week and it has proved to be very helpful. I am 76. After the menopause our oestrogen levels drop which means our vagina becomes dry and loses it's elasticity. This causes our leaks. Please speak to your doctor.

I used to leak a little but after going to a beginner’s Pilates class for two years the problem has gone. I am really pleased so maybe a thing to try.

Pelvic exercises can help, I recommend Squeezy.

There is an acupressure point - so I gather - just underneath the nose. It's in between the bottom of the nostrils and the top of the upper lip. In that groove beneath the nostrils. I gather one presses firmly on it to give the message to your body of "You can stop that right now - and wait until I am ready".

HTH.

I use adult incontinence pants and pads. They usually catch it before I can get to the toilet. I'm supposed to be having a referral to the colo-rectal clinic but I haven't got the appointment yet.

I have that problem too. I hadn't realised it had a,name. I had thought it was only me or just my age, but apparently it's a 'thing.' It usually strikes me when getting my key out to open the front door.

I read somewhere that imaging you have a piece of cooked spaghetti which you are trying to keep tucked away 'down below' and so tightening those muscles. It works a bit for me, at least as long as it takes me to get to the loo just inside the front door.

I know, I know- it's not a pretty image, but if it helps ...

I am suffering very badly with urge incontinence. I am at the point I can rarely get to the toilet without not just leaking, but letting go. It's costing me a fortune in pads!!
Does anyone have experience of this and is there a cure?
