Midazolam dosage too high?

Yes, I google too much. I have realised that tonight, just before I read this. I will have to resist the urge.

Please don't worry. A small short acting dose will do no harm.

I did ask for a low dose, Wyllow3 , I'm not good with medication. I'll ask about it before the next procedure. I've a whopping headache now, but reluctant to take pills.

Its well within the normal range, it could be affected by other meds (google to cross check) - it may take a little longer to recover as you have ME, I'd see how you feel tomorrow morning. If you have another procedure ahead then how about checking out the meds in advance? (including the use of Fentanyl)..ask for lower doses?

4mg of Midazolam isn't a particularly high dose of the drug. There are many people with epilepsy prescribed 10mg liquid Midazolam for someone else to administer to them in the event of status epilepticus. I don't think a 4mg dose is anything to be too concerned about.

Midazolam is a short acting benzodiazepam drug. You will have been given the dose that was prescribed for you, or necessary for completion of the procedure. It may have been injected in one, or two increments. It is one of the safest short acting waking sedation drugs given to enable a procedure to be performed.
