Well done. It’s surprising how long these things take but you are on the way. Good luck. Keep it up.

Had my hip replacement in November and started swimming again 8 weeks later, just front crawl and backstroke though. Great to be back in the water and doing aquafit too.

What an encouraging post! Well done. I bet you feel so much better for it. I am hoping to get back to it soon after my hip replacement which has been more painful than expected. Next hurdle is to see the consultant in February and hope he gives the green light.

Sally walls!
You have encouraged me to start swimming again. Well done and thank you x

Very well done to get back in the water. I wanted to go this week but still rather groggy, so trying to be sensible and go next week. So I shall hope to use you as a good example and get back to it next week. Congratulations on your first dip for a while

That's great Sallywally1 keep it up. It's easy to become disheartened. I had my shoulder replacement at the end of November and was relieved after the op to be pain free after two weeks and doing really well then a week later I got a stress fracture so I'm back in my sling full time but I'm still optimistic that I'll be back gardening by summer.

After six months post shoulder replacement and much pain it has been a long journey. However, I went swimming today and with the aid of some floats managed to swim! Before my op I was swimming five times a week, 40 or so lengths, so I am really pleased to be back.
