Hethena ,glad to hear that you're on the mend....we all think, oh I'll feel better tomorrow. we will urge our family to get it seen to , but when it comes to ourselves, we try to soldier on, take care.

Keep recovering Henetha and thanks for the warning. So many of us just try to ‘soldier on’, it was how we were brought up I suppose. Very hard to spend a day resting isn’t it ?

I had pneumonia a year ago. Just to warn you the pneumonia is gone in sick weeks but it took me longer than that to feel fully recovered, probably more like three months to feel 100%.

It is horrible so look after yourself.

You are all lovely. Thanks so much.
smile.

Thanks for taking time to warn us about this. Much appreciated, and glad there is a happy ending. flowers

Scary thought! I'm glad your family got to you in time.
Best wishes for a strong recovery. And make a fuss next time, (though hopefully there won't be one!)💐

Mollygo Fri 30-Jan-26 12:15:39

That’s scary Henetha but I’m glad you got treatment before it was too late. It’s a good warning, to listen to your body.
Stay safe.

Oh dear. How rotten for you but glad you're feeling better. It's so easy to just hope, 'It'll go away, I don't want to make a fuss,' but it's really hard to judge when you should.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-Jan-26 12:07:58

Pleased you got the treatment needed, albeit later than you should.

Wishing you a full recover, listen to your body and rest x

Fallingstar Fri 30-Jan-26 12:06:13

A good lesson indeed. And so relieved you sought help eventually henetha. Time to listen to your body now and not rush your recovery.
All the best xxx

You are all so kind. . Thanks BlueBelle..

BlueBelle Fri 30-Jan-26 12:03:18

Oh dear there is such a fine line between telling someone and just soldering on
Glad you got the help you needed in the end, but please ask for help sooner next time, I m sure you will.
Hope you keep improving and get well soon 💐

henetha Fri 30-Jan-26 12:02:55

It's so tempting just to plod on, but this is a strict warning to me to never do that again. Thanks AGAA4... smile

henetha Fri 30-Jan-26 12:00:43

I will fully recover, they said. Even the pulmonary embolism is nearly gone.
So nice of you, Doodledog. Thank you.. smile

AGAA4 Fri 30-Jan-26 12:00:25

Sorry you have been so ill but glad you are recovering now. Thanks for the warning. I do tend to plod on when I'm ill on my own so I will contact a doctor in future.
Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care of yourself 💐

Doodledog Fri 30-Jan-26 11:57:09

I hope you're fully recovered, henetha. That sounds horrible.

Following a bad cold from before Christmas, it never really got better, especially the cough, like lots of us had.
I began to experience breathlessness which just grew worse and worse. I started to struggle for breath and my heartbeat went completely mad.
This is where I made my mistake. - I DIDN'T TELL ANYONE .
Eventually my family noticed and I ended up in A&E very ill. I would have died within 24 hours they said.
So a week in hospital, lots of treatment and drugs and I am now home, resting because pneumonia takes six weeks to recover from.
So this is a message for anyone as stupid as me. Tell someone.
Don't hide it because you, like me, didn't want to make a fuss.
