Hard to act on, but your health is just as important. Care solutions will be found if they have to be. Put yourself first for now. But as others have said it may be a technicality. Try not to ‘trouble trouble till trouble troubles you’, tho easier said than done.

Shelflife it’s very understandable that you’re anxious but, as others have said, it may well be a technicality. If it isn’t then you must have the care you need and ways will be found to provide care for your husband. You can’t care for him if you’re not well.

Thankyou , I will try not to over think this. My GP said the 2nd xray would be within 2 to 4 weeks. Until then I will try and be positive. I appreciate your responses, thank you.

Thankyou teabag woman, you are correct. I am probably over anxious, my big fear since my husbands diagnosis is that I may become ill. This pre occupation with my health is so unlike me . I will endeavour not to over

I would have thought if it wasn't a technical problem you would have been called back much sooner. Try not to worry, but it is easier said than done.

Probably a poor technical picture, as easy as a breath at the wrong time.
Look after yourself, remember if your are out of action, you're DH doesn't have support.

If they are happy for you to wait 2 to 4 weeks then I think it is very likely that they do not think there is any major cause for concern. Round here there is a walk-in chest xray facility as long as you have a referral.

Thankyou all, I am banking on a technical problem. Worrying to much because of my DHs situation. Whilst he is not as bad as he probably will be , he needs me to oversee things. The thought of me being ill fills be with fear!

That was my first thought, too. I was once called back in for a second mammogram after everyone else in the waiting room had been sent home. My whole life flashed before me as I walked back into the x ray room. If only the nurse had said straight away ‘ your x ray isn’t very clear we need to do another one’. The NHS isn’t very good at reassuring people quick enough.

I've been called back in the past because of quality too.

Me too. It was a mobile mammogram unit and apparently if another patient arrives when you are 'being done' their steps can wobble the machine and cause a shadow.

Don't forget that you can ring the hospital and ask why you have been referred. If you don't know the name of the consultant, your GP should be able to tell you, and you can ask for their secretary. If not, a call to the department should be enough. There will be some sort of note on your file, and if not, ask for a message to go to the consultant and for someone to call you back.

I agree with the others that it sounds straightforward, but wish you luck .
