I have recently started on this, prescribed by GP. Today I really reacted to it and had all the common side-effects after taking it this morning.
Has anyone taken it? I took Amlodipine 5mg previously, GP changed to this one.

I’ve been taking it for a good ten years, 10mg, no side effects.

I tried a few before finally settling on lercanidipine with new issues at all.

Mum takes it and says it causes swollen ankles, but fortunately for her no other issues.Everyone is different of course which is why it’s silly to say meds don’t cause problems/it’s all overhyped/ caused by the media and so on, as it doesn’t matter if a hundred people are fine on it if it causes side effects for you.
All I would say is stick with it for a while and see if things improve when your body gets used to it if you feel you can.

Side effects can vary between types of medication, even though they do the same job. I'm just curious as to why the OP's doctor changed the medication.

I know it is stating. The obvious, but do let your GP know of any unexpected side effects. No one should just put something down to unexplained reactions.
