Fitflop trainers have a wide toe box and arch support, though I wear insoles. Also New Balance make wide fit trainers which don’t look orthopaedic.

Both my feet have had surgery for bunions, hammer toes and osteoarthritis. I wear Gabor shoes and some Clark wide fit for everyday and Skechers for walking and golf.

I’m in the same boat, I’ve got a bunion on one foot, and wide feet too. I don’t generally like Hotter shoes, because the backs always rub on my heels, and I don’t like Skechers because they don’t give enough support so my feet ache when I wear them. The key is to get shoes with a wide toe box so your toes can spread out. I’ve got a couple of pairs of shoes from Calla, who specialise in bunion friendly footwear, which are excellent, but they are quite expensive. I’ve got some wide fit New Balance trainers from Wide Fit Shoes, my walking sandals are Hotter. I find M&S wide fit sandals sometimes work for me too, the fishermen’s style ones are good because the straps are leather and they stretch to accommodate my bunion. It’s exhausting finding exactly the right shoes though, it’s my internet browsing hobby.

Watching with interest as I have a bunion. My chiropodist made a lovely toe separator for me but after several years I lost it somewhere in my bedroom. I am due an appt soon and hope I can have another.
I have worn Hotter shoes in the past and have taken out the thick insoles and replaced them with Cherry Blossom leather insoles from John Lewis and being thinner as well as cooler they give me more space.

I have what I've been told is a .5 bunion, so just the beginnings of one. Got one of those plasticiney toe separators from chiropodist and I'm now looking for wide fitting shoes. Hotter have been recommended but I don't like those because the insoles get sweaty. Do people have any other ideas?
