Had to get on scales today…Horrendous

So 2nd injection today.. am not getting on scales @home ad don’t want to get too paranoid

My appetite is slightly reduced and hope this continues … only side affect was a bit of nausea on day 4, at night.. so couldn’t get to sleep until later as needed to sit up…

I think skinny jabs are miraculous. I know several people using them without any problems at all and losing weight steadily.
But they are not available to 90% of those who need them because they cost around £150 per month, unless you’re grossly obese and can get them on prescription.
Like so much else this wonder drug is only for the well-off.

Hi, I can assure you that I’m not well-off….but saved from age 16 and retired at 68 . I was taught to save ‘for the rainy day’ as Mother called it…

Unfortunately my savings have dwindled due to the last 15 yrs of employment, I could only work 20 hrs a week with health issues which has severely impacted my pension…if I hadn’t saved for ‘my rainy day’ I would be entitled to pension credit/ and housing benefits etc etc..

So, I pay for the injections on private prescription…and feel your comment is not helpful and untrue…

I’ve just had this myself. After an NHS heath check, I’m in the system. I’ve had a urine test - all ok, blood pressure monitor for a day - slightly raised; cholesterol more than it should be but I’m tackling that using Benecol and I’ve had a blood test with results shortly. The Benecol claims a 10% reduction in 2-3 weeks so well worth trying. I was weighed but have lost a few kgs over a three week period. I will keep going. I don’t want statins if I can help it. I also had an ECG which was normal.

We have a milkman and get full fat milk. We never turned to semi skimmed
Unless you're drinking pints of the stuff it seems to me that full fat is fine.

And it tastes so much better.

The GP weighed me as my cholesterol levels increased and have to double up my statins- .am mobility impaired with 2 spinal fractures so walking outside daily is a challenge…
Know im not burning many calories…

Because my BMI is not over 40, have to visit pharmacy for weight loss treatment …so just wondered if anyone has been told to go to pharmacy for treatments?

Hi I use medexpress on line. They take full medical history and let your go know you’re on the medication. It’s been a life changer for me . Feel free to pm me if you need further info

Hi, thank you for your info - I did view this website and yes there are lower prices for the injections …
As I take a few prescribed medications, wanted advice and face to face reviews and GP support in case of side effects etc.

Normally I buy supermarket milk semi skimmed and yes, you’re correct it does last up to a week in fridge

There is something odd about supermarket milk because it lasts for ages whereas the semi skimmed I get from the milkman goes off very quickly.

MayBee70 I’ve also heard we should all go back to full fat milk to sustain our bone density…guidelines forever changing 🤔

MT62 great result…and just being able to walk around the house with no walking aid must feel an accomplishment 🤩

I also would be happy to drop down to a size 14 ..have been stuck in the 18-20 zone for years….any walking triggers lumbar pain so am pretty much indoors…but do sit down exercises..

So ..started 4 week weight loss treatment via injection at pharmacy..full consultation including BP taken and height/weight measurements..review in 4 weeks

Hopefully hopefully this will motivate me to eat less and move more🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’ve lost a stone on Wegovy in 9 weeks.
Eat more or less the same, but cut back on portion size. I could be stricter but I like an odd treat here & there on a weekend.
I don’t eat rubbish anyway but my portions were always large.
I will be happy at a size 14 & really don’t want to get any lower than that.
I have also managed to walk around the house without my stick.
The hospital at my pre- op was over the moon with my weight loss as I am waiting for a knee replacement.
I’ve bought some dumbbells & do arm exercises most mornings & eat plenty of protein based meals to maintain what muscles I have.
I think a lot of these celebrities are small anyway. Probably don’t eat much anyway, plus had face fillers & lip fillers that look crazy on tiny faces.

I lost about 6lbs over Christmas and New Year, with a vomitting/squits bug and have not put it back on. I am am now 8st 12lbs, so not exactly obese even at my height of 5' 2". However I have a history of frighteningly high cholesterol levels dating back to when statins were invented - and my weight was the same as now. Even on high doses (40mg) I have never dipped below 5. When first tested I was at around 13! As the dose went up I suffered more side effects including mobility problems (feet glued to ground as legs weighed a ton, seemingly) and a change to a new pill caused a massive nosebleed.

I stopped taking any anti-cholesterol meds almost a year ago. My health has improved from hardly being able to walk to being able to do a few star jumps, in spite of tendon problems in the hip area. I feel a lot better. I have no idea what my cholesterol level is and I don't care. I am now 78 and I would prefer to be mobile with a risk of heart attack rather than functionally immobile.

I read recently that homogenising milk to give increased shelf life {and that "creamy taste we all like!" (not me)}, creates tiny fat molecules that instead of being digested can be absorbed directly into the blood stream, which can't be good. I now buy unhomogenised when I can find it.
I try to minimise my intake of UPF and eat "traditionally" as much as possible.

I heard that it’s better to buy full fat milk and remove the fat because semi skimmed has been altered in some way ; it might have been on a ZOE podcast.

I was considered curvy..then bit heavy…now obese ..that word makes me feel awful but it’s my reality…

Aldi and Lidl sell reduced fat cheese which I now buy. I love my cheese.

I do love my cheese especially CC extra mature but did switch to CC Light

It’s really difficult to find sometimes. I bought some in one shop and then couldn’t find it again for ages. I really fancied some cheese last night so had a chunk of 50% reduced cheese (shared it with the dog). My partner doesn’t like it, says it’s flavourless but I don’t like strong cheddar anyway. My favourite cheese is Edam which no one seems to sell these days although I did find some ready sliced in the Coop.

Since my THR last March , I’ve put on 6kgs but still wearing the same size clothes so it was a rude awakening to see the scale nos. Must have very stretchy clothes…

I would never say to GP or PHARMACIST no, I’m not getting on scales..this is very negative IMO

Ive put on weight due to overeating. I did some research today to refresh my memory and realised I have been eating way too much especially and dinner time. I found a few sites explaining that your hand size is a simple yet accurate way to measure portion sizes.

This may help you cut back on calories while staying in a healthy weight range...as others have said don't go down the injection route, apparently the weight always comes back.

Germany has one of the highest cardiovascular death rates in the world.

2mmol/L (British & Canadian measure) is 36mg/dL (US measure). 4mmol/L = 72mg/dL.

I wish the US/UK used the same measures for cholesterol. I am trying to find out what a 2 or four means.

You should really look at people who have lost weight using them, I'm yet to see anyone that doesn't look incredibly ill and unhealthy. Plus you won't take on healthy eating habits so will put the weight back on immediately as soon as you stop the jabs. I know someone who lost 8st in 8 months, she looked absolutely awful and that's not looking at all the extra skin she was left with because the weight came off so fast. She started having problems with her gallbladder (a known issue with the jabs) and it had to be removed, she stopped the jabs on the Dr's advice and within 3 months she not only put the weight back on she added more to it.

You'd be far better doing as much exercise as you can and eating less calories... Eat less calories than you use and you will lose weight.

I always put some on during Winter…..all those lovely meals and puds! Now it’s my time to walk more ,eat salads and protein and drink water..I quite like my extra bit in Winter!
