Loss of smell

I lost much of my sense of smell 15 years ago. It didn’t bother me much as I could still smell many flowers.
Recently I thought I was smelling and tasting less so yesterday I brought in a bunch of bluebells. I can’t smell them at all and know that I now only taste salty or sweet things.
I’m really sad about this. I shall try rinsing out my nose with a neti pot but don’t think it will help.

That’s miserable Watermeadow. My neighbour has the same problem. I only discovered this because I commented on how strongly the curry plant she has in her front garden smells and she explained that she had no idea that it smelt of anything.

Covid did for me. Luckily my taste is ok, but my sense of smell has degraded. I can smell somethings, but others - nothing.

DS is exactly the same as a result of Covid as well. The only thing he can smell is that of burning which I suppose is something .

Ditto - for the last few years I can only faintly smell some things but not others. I wondered if it could, possibly, be due to the effects of medications?

I lost mine 7 years ago, along with most of my sense of taste. It coincided with the onset of an autoimmune disorder but not linked- apparently.
A consultant ENT told me l had probably sniffed too much bleach over the years from housework. Seriously?!!!
Cooking is an issue as my memory is rubbish, so the dog often has to remind me if something is boiling dry.

I'm the same, I can't smell perfume now not on myself or anyone else, can't smell any perfume from flowers. I have an orange blossom plant, and even the leaves smell lovely, you can smell it when ever you walk up the path, everyone can smell it except me. certain foods don't taste the same either, I've never had covid, so that's not the cause with me.
