Had the jab yesterday and have felt pretty dire today, headache, listless, sleepy, sore arm. DH also felt unwell. However we both seem to be feeling better now 24 hours later. They didn’t give us a document describing this particular jab.

Onward and upward. šŸ‘

The first time I had Covid I felt terrible for 5 days with the headache from hell.
So I have all vaccinations offered.

GreyKnitter Wed 15-Apr-26 18:26:47

I’m too young for the current vaccine but would def have it if I was offered.

MT62 Wed 15-Apr-26 18:32:01

Felt dreadful off the AZ jab. Covid to me was nothing more than a common cold.
I won’t be having any more jabs.

I had a Covid jab back in 2022 and one month later had a bleed on the brain. I now stagger around with a stick and my left side is useless. My hand cannot hold anything much and is especially useless when Im trying to feed myself. I also get nerve pains through that hand. I have had lots of physio both through the hospital and quite a bit that I have paid for myself. If it wasnt for my amazing DH I would definitely be in a care home. I am fully aware that the jab may have nothing to do with the stroke but I was very active, slim and virtually a non drinker. When I had the stroke I was merely putting things away in the airing cupboard! After the stroke I didnt have anymore Covid jabs for a couple of years but I did have 2 in 2024. Unfortunately I have just read an article about a lady who like me a stroke around a month after a jab but unlike me claimed and received thousands of pounds in damages.
At the end of the day its for everyone to make their own choice

Well said Franbern. I have every vaccination available and am grateful for that. I have booked the Covid spring booster for myself and my DH.

We will have to have ours later as the Dr has only offered three dates and we are away

We always get ours at Boots in town, it is so convenient with no long queues or waiting time.

I also had pulmonary embolisms after my 2nd Covid jab. I will never have another.

Robin202 Wed 15-Apr-26 22:25:33

I never had a single covid jab and never would.

Nannytopsy Wed 15-Apr-26 22:38:53

One or two people above have commented on getting Covid after the vaccination. Imagine how very ill with Covid they would have been without the protection. It’s always worth the vaccinations to keep any symptoms milder if you are unlucky enough to still catch it.

the last jab I had was last year, I went really dizzy and had a really bad headache for about 3 days and felt generally unwell all week, almost as bad as I felt when I actually had Covid, so I don't think I will have this one.

Just booked ours. We take every protection going.

Yes we are having ours too. Have had every one that has been offered.

I never had a single covid jab and never would.

Wondering why?

Kate1949 Thu 16-Apr-26 10:58:15

I have had all vaccines offered - COVID, flu, pneumonia, shingles, that new one RSV? The way I look at it is that I am being protected, lucky to live where they are free and people have worked hard to develop the vaccines to help us.

Me too!

Without context Robin202 - you comment, though interesting, is pointless on here.

I hope so, but you never know they might be too busy attending to patients with blood clots, after having the vaccination.

Franbern

Can we assume that those who do not trust the medics enough to have regular vaccinations, will also not trust them enough to receive any treatment should they get covid???

certainly hope so but then they might be too busy treating patients who have had blood clots after getting the vaccination

Pably, your argument is very weak and response facetious.. I take it, you have done your research.

Research has shown that the risk of blood clots from a Covid infection is significantly higher, than vaccination induced blood clots.

AstraZeneca (ChAdOx1): The overall incidence of rare blood clots with low platelets (Vaccine-induced Immune Thrombocytopenia and Thrombosis, or VITT) is estimated at approximately 14.9 per million (0.00149%) after the first dose and 1.8 per million (0.00018%) after the second dose in the UK.
Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT162b2): Studies in Scotland found no link between the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and an increased risk of venous thromboembolic events.
Age-Specific Risks: According to UK Health Security Agency guidance, the risk of rare blood clots after the first AstraZeneca dose is roughly 1 in 50,000 (0.002%) for those aged 18–39 and 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) for those aged 40 and older.
Context of Infection: The risk of blood clots from natural COVID-19 infection is significantly higher than from vaccination. For example, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) occurs at a rate of approximately 42.8 per million in those infected with COVID-19, compared to the much lower rates seen post-vaccination.

In Scotland, by April 2021, only three deaths had been linked to these rare adverse effects out of more than 2.8 million first doses administered.

The BHS are doing significant research to try and find the reason/cause why people are predisposed to experiencing clots or even worse, die.

The same can be said of any medication, or vaccination.
I nearly died after taking only *one dose of an R.A drug. It caused a silent heart attack. No-one could have predicted that, just as no- one can predict blood clots in a patient, after vaccination.
My cardiologist worked in ICU during the pandemic. He said he had gever seen such horrific heart damage in his career, all caused by Covid.

If you do not wish to be vaccinated, that's OK with me, but expecting a bed in ICU, if you become seriously ill, is having double standards.

I had to shield during the pandemic, and was told I had a DNR put on my record (it is still there) and would be denied a bed, in hospital, because the beds were needed for those, who had a chance of surviving, even those, who had never been vaccinated.
I did not accept that very graciously.

While I realise that, that there are very genuine reasons for not having the vaccine, I have no time for those, who spout Internet nonsense, then expect treatment.

I lived in total isolation for two years, no hospital, GP nor nurse visits.
I was more at risk of dying from lack of care, than from Covid.
It is a very emotive subject for me.

I am in favour of Flu and Covid vaccines.
I am too young this Spring to get the Covid booster free on the NHS but was happy to pat £98 and have one privately at a Pharmacy.
It was the latest Pfizer one, no side effects except a stiff arm for 36 hrs.

If you mean ,doing my research by scanning the internet well no, I didn't find it there, I know some people personally who have had blood clots after the vaccination, and what some other posters have said, and it doesn't matter if it happened to half a dozen or hundreds,we all have a choice whether to get the vaccine or not,and I choose not to. and yes, I would expect to be treated by nhs if I was ill, like everyone else,if you think my response was facetious, that's your problem

I’m only 66 don’t qualify as such but might get called up because of my asthma? Definitely would have it. Just had second jab last Monday of the shingles jab sore arm and little unwell 48 hrs after, but ok now. Anything that keeps me ticking!

aonk Sun 19-Apr-26 11:52:45

DH and I had our vaccinations on Wednesday. Both of us had sore arms and felt tired and a bit lightheaded the following day. All fine by Friday.

kittylester Sun 19-Apr-26 12:14:51

I haven't been invited but do fit the criteria so went on the website and booked in anyway. We are going to a pharmacy that is nearer to us than the gp surgery.

Fradders Mon 20-Apr-26 01:13:04

I had my booster yesterday, have felt under the weather all day today. But I wouldn’t dream of not having it,people have such ridiculous reasons for not having it.

BlueBelle Mon 20-Apr-26 06:48:37

I m totally in favour of the Covid and flu jabs and will carry on having my annual flu jab
I ve had my shingles and pneumonia a number of years back. I am pro injections I just haven’t had a spring Covid as I think it has morphed and I haven’t heard of anyone having Covid for months, that doesn’t mean it’s gone away but I think it has turned into what people are just calling ā€˜flu’
No one I know tests any more so how do you know what you’ve had or what it is
Do you all test ? Last year(autumn time) I had what I felt was covid I bought a packet of tests I think they were about £8 for there or four tests and I tested negative. I decided then that flu was flu whatever name you gave it
I ve had Covid two or three times during ā€˜the Covid years’ even though I d had about 8/9 vaccinations
I m a reasonable healthy person so hopefully my immune system will now fully support me. I totally agree with anyone with health problems having everything they offer you

Nightsky2 Sun 26-Apr-26 17:07:01

I had mine yesterday. Feeling very tired today and have a bit of an achy arm. The tiredness is new to me so fingers x that I’ll be my usual perky self tomorrow.😁
