Loud background music on TV

I have tinnitus and sometimes I can't make out the speech on TV as the so-called music is too loud. We always use subtitles these days but it's difficult to knit and read at the same time!
husband says his hearing aids make the problem worse.

You are so right glasses, often I dare not put the remote down at all, as I find whatever I'm watching needs constant volume tweaks!

I totally agree.

Ditto.
We have resorted to subtitles and turn the volume down when crashing background music makes it unbearable.
But my DH can’t see very well or hear too well since having a massive stroke so I have to read most of the subtitles out to him which is tiring.
Also actors mutter all the time so subtitles are essential.

Me too with the tinnitus problem.
I don’t know why they have to have background music so loud.
I have to keep rewinding to see what the character has said.
Tom hardy, Sarah Lancashire I just find it hard to tell what they are saying at the best of times
