I am sorry if this is affecting you. My late Mum had this issue. Her bowel twisted twice, but righted itself, before twisting for the third time. She was admitted to hospital and they tried to untwist the bowel by inflating it. It did work, but the bowel twisted again. In the end she had an operation to remove the damaged part of the bowel and then had a stoma. She was 89 at this stage but recovered surprisingly well from the operation and dealt with the stoma with minimal fuss.
The trouble with a twisted bowel is that it often results in part of the bowel dying so there is no real option apart from a stoma, particularly in older people. Younger people can often have the stoma reversed after the bowel has time to heal.
