The Netta fan is £60 from Amazon, 42in. I find it very efficient and sleep through it so not noisy. It also has a timer but not so many functions, horses for courses really. The Dyson is about £300.
We have a lĕvoit tower fan which is great. It works works well in our fairly large bedroom.
It's better in my opinion to have a biggish fan running slower than a smaller one running like mad so we bought the 42 Inch version. It can fan up and down as well as side to side. The remote is useful. 12 Speeds and can be set to a sort of irregular pattern which simulates a breeze. Oh yes, and it has a timer too.
We have 4 other fans. All are pretty good actually but this is my favourite for the bedroom.
I have a floor fan from Schallen but I see Netta do a similar one and cheaper. Its powerful, rather noisy but efficient. Not heavy to move. I also have tabletop fans from John Lewis with remote controls and a small one in the kitchen. At the moment I have the kitchen french windows open wide and the tops of the sash windows open so cool air is circulating through the house. But they will be closed as soon as the air warms up oitside about 9.00 am. Then curtains closed on the sunny side. We are forecast 30 today and 33 tomorrow and Tuesday. Not looking forward to such heat. The John Lewis large table top fan in DHs bedroom I will switch on in a moment as it is quiet. My floor fan is noisy. I am also drinking a large mug of tepid tea and that is cooling. This weather is crazy for May.
I have a tower fan by a company called Netta. It was recommended by a GNer . I have just bought a larger one for downstairs,I think it is excellent and much cheaper than many.
We have a ceiling fan in bedroom and it’s very good. I got out the tower fan I bought during last heatwave and it’s excellent. We have a table top fan in summerhouse and the office.
The best thing I ever did , a few years ago, was to have a ceiling fan installed in my bedroom. It’s a Westinghouse . Obviously , it’s remotely controlled. I guess all ceiling fans are RC . I can’t imagine anyone wanting to get up in the middle of the night, to turn the fan off. I also have table-top fans for the other rooms, although these days , my GC very rarely stay overnight
