Arthrodesis

I saw a podiatrist privately when informed of a 48 week wait to see someone. But the op if I decide on it can be done on NHS.

Grannyjacq1 Did you see your GP for your cyst? I was told it was not something they dealt with.

I've had my big toe straightened to relieve arthritis. I had to wear a special shoe for about 6 weeks. I can only wear flat shoes but such a relief from the pain, well worth it I think.

I didn’t get any pain in my big toe joint but the toe was moving over, squashing my other toes and causing intractable and very painful corns. I had it and three other toes straightened and fused. I had to hop, using a walking frame, for 6 weeks which was very difficult but it was well worth it. I’d say go for it, it won’t get any easier as you get older.
