Not stupid,we have same problem in our house,our main concern with loo rolls is the septic tank,trying to find paper that is ok

We have a "saniflo" toilet and need a quick disintegrating loo roll. I have found the basic rolls from Lidl works well.

Bazoo bamboo toilet paper is good. I think it’s as good as Andrex and it’s cheaper. (And it’s unbleached and better for the planet.) I would only pat with any toilet paper after a wee.

...or you can just wet some toilet paper slightly for a wash and then dry again.
We find Aldi's quilted does the job nicely and is economical.

Funny story, DD wanted some loo rolls for crafting at school last year, I religiously collected them, we use a lot with 6 adults, proudly presented them to her and she burst out laughing, “oh I cannot use those, they say “who gives a crap on them” “

Haha, I hadn’t even noticed, her little 5 years would have, and so would their parents and, worst of all, DD’s Head Teacher!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this toilet paper in Lidl in Frankfurt last year - of course it's in aid of breast cancer.
I gave some to my mum thinking she would find it funny but she asked me to take it away before any of her friends saw it!

I haven't seen ones for prostate or testicular cancer though...

For those recommending Wype.
Buy a big bottle of Aloe Vera gel instead, I got mine from Amazon. Just the same, a fraction of the price and you can decant some into a small bottle for use when you’re out. Very effective and soothing.

Interesting. I think I was the only one recommending Wype. I've just taken delivery of a bumper pack, so it will be ages before I need to replace it, but I'll bear that in mind, thanks.

I also use a bit of moisturiser ( Diprobase). As we get older, we get very dry down there…. hence the itching.😂

I'm so pleased to read this thread. I thought it was just me. I've been irritated by the tiny white bits left after wiping too. I've tried endless papers but they all do the same thing. I'll give Cheeky panda a go. Thanks.

I have sensitive skin in all areas. So after using dry toilet paper I use 'Sainsbury's Supersoft Flushable Moist Toilet Tissue, Sensitive'. it works for me because it's inexpensive and prevents itching.

What happens to flushable moist toilet tissue? I wonder how well it dissipates.

Looking it up it says that they degrade very slowly and mainly get caught in sewage plant filters. I have a biodigester and would be wary of using this.

Just thought - if you went for the cotton squares idea you could pop them in Napisan until it’s towel wash day - if you wash you towels at 60•C
Urine, I think, is fairly sterile unless you have an infection? It’s perhaps any smells you’re concerned about.

I used to use the small Cetraban pump for that reason but the pump stopped working on one and another one I bought the pump didn’t work at all. So I, too, now use Wype. It lasts for ages because you only need a tiny amount.

I keep a small plastic jug in the bathroom,
just a drip of liquid soap and some warm water, then pat dry with a microfiber square. I think they used to call it bottle washing during the war.
