I feel for ALL who have UTI's. Mum goes through bouts and depending on which GP gets the question determines what pills she gets, for years, "I'm sore, in pain" she says, "are you sure, are you drinking enough?" they would ask. "Can I have some antibiotics please?" "Well, we really don't recommend them, try drinking more fluids and send in a pee sample tomorrow! ", she'd be told.
Tomorrow would come, pee sample would be handed in, usually within an hr, text stating a prescription will be sent to Rowlands...... I go get, 3 days of that Nitro stuff. Mum groan, phone up Doctors again, they tell her 3 days enough and that's what she is getting. 3 days later a 2nd pee sample is handed in, then she gets phone call off GP, blood in pee and bad infection, a week of antibiotics, why didn't she call sooner?
Yes, that is genuine! For years back and forth! I even got told to STOP testing mums pee with strips because they aren't accurate! I told her they are Combur 9, she soon shut up!
She's FINALLY (we have it in writing) got letter from consultant to GP, WHEN mum has UTI, go STRAIGHT to a week at least of heavy Antibiotics. She's gone from one every few weeks to months now (I don't want to jinx it but I don't think she's had one this year!)
