As per title. He has been getting mild chest discomfort on exertion. GP suspects angina and gave him a GTN spray. I’m surprised she did not organise ice an ECG? He does not seem at all worried though I am. He is 71 and generally fit and healthy, active most days with voluntary work and some sports. Does yoga. Is angina a precursor of a heart attack, or will the GTN keep this at bay. The GP described it as ‘stable angina’.

I will reply as no one else has up until now.

The person I know who has stable angina, has had no problems for 30 years, as long as take the spray when they need to.
No heart attack or anything close.
Going uphill or down[cant remember which] is trickier, but ok if stop for periods of time.
