I’m in the same boat, I’ve got a bunion on one foot, and wide feet too. I don’t generally like Hotter shoes, because the backs always rub on my heels, and I don’t like Skechers because they don’t give enough support so my feet ache when I wear them. The key is to get shoes with a wide toe box so your toes can spread out. I’ve got a couple of pairs of shoes from Calla, who specialise in bunion friendly footwear, which are excellent, but they are quite expensive. I’ve got some wide fit New Balance trainers from Wide Fit Shoes, my walking sandals are Hotter. I find M&S wide fit sandals sometimes work for me too, the fishermen’s style ones are good because the straps are leather and they stretch to accommodate my bunion. It’s exhausting finding exactly the right shoes though, it’s my internet browsing hobby.
