Does anyone, living alone, have an Amerzon Alexa, if so do you like it?
I ask because I am thinking of getting one so if I suddenly feel very ill it would phone one of my contacts.

Yes I have several around the house.
I use them for many things, checking the time/temperature, making lists, asking questions, playing the radio/music etc.

I'm sure you will find many uses for it if you do decide to get one.

I'm not certain but I think it will only contact some else if they also have an Amazon Alexa. If you are buying it simply for this purpose you need to check if it is really what you need.

If the person is in your contacts on your mobile phone Alexi will ring that person. I just tried it to be sure.

I have several round the house and ask all sorts of questions.

I tried with Alexa but something wasn't right with the connection. I think it was my wi fi. My daughter couldn't set it up, not could a computer man. He said it was my BT router's fault. I couldn't deal with it at the time, gave up and sent it back, although would like to try again really.

As you live alone I suggest you get a younger person who's familiar with Alexa to help you set it up, only because you might come across something unfamiliar with the settings and get stuck.

We also have several, it’s so easy to request music or a particular radio station. We have an Echo Show that does amazing things including making video calls and watch streamed videos. It also shows who is at the door via the Ring doorbell. Very useful if you’re in the back of the house.
