shysal I have never heard of that name. I must google it.

Do you have a Comfortmaker near you? The one at Abingdon is excellent, but no good for you. They used to be Co-op owned, but I think have been taken over by Beales, who have branches country-wide.

For comfort I always use good quality feather inners for my cushions, but they do need a plump and shake after use.

I have Dunelm cushions which I bought years ago and they are similar to the day I bought them- I am very pleased with them.

I was looking for some cushions to go without new suite. I spotted some in the window of the British Heart Foundation shop. They are beautiful. I would never buy items such as cushions from a charity shop but they look brand new to me. Everyone admires them.

What happens to Christmas cushions for the rest of the year?

HildaW Fri 25-Nov-11 20:46:22

As nanachrissy says, feather cushions stay plump and can also be re-plumped when they do get sqwished. I buy feather cushion pads....about £8 each and then make my own cushions. I've just done some for new house having shopped around for remnants of what was originally quite expensive fabric, am quite chuffed with them.

I've had some from Dunelm for quite a while and they've kept their shape well. Our local branch carries a good choice at very reasonable prices.

I bought two mongolian fur cushions from Matalan to-day they have a nice selection of colours in and they look nicely filled with above average inners.

No John Lewis or Ikea near to us, but we do have Next, Matalan and Dunelm, so will look there. I`m always seeing lovely looking cushions, but find myself wondering if they`ll go flat like all the others. Thanks for all the replies.

Number I have just bought 2 from John Lewis, and they seem to have stayed plumped up. I love cushions, I think the sexes are divided over them, DH says he can't see the point of cushions and always chucks them on the floor.hmm

nanachrissy Thu 24-Nov-11 10:17:42

Number, if you buy feather filled cushions, they stay plump and you can fluff them up. It's the pads that are polyester that go flat.

Oh that's good news susiecb as I bought a couple from Next yesterday!

susiecb Thu 24-Nov-11 09:32:55

Next cushions have proved hardier than the more expensive ones I bought in a Laura Ashley sale.

I had a really pleasant IKEA visit - with DDiL. It's the first time I've had a chance just to wander round, and browse and buy in the Market place, rather than be on a mission with DH to buy bookshelves. (He does not shop as we know it!) And yes, lovely cushions and some very inexpensive Christmas bags and things. (Did, however, then proceed to John Lewis.)

Do you have a Dunelm near to you number? They have really nice ones and lots of Christmassy ones too. I bought some lovely Christmassy ones from Ikea as well (if you can bear the idea of an ikea visit)......?

glammanana Wed 23-Nov-11 23:06:48

Do you want them for xmas or can you wait until the sales, you could jazz up the ones you have got with some nice sparkley sewn on stars and moons etc.

Notsogrand Wed 23-Nov-11 23:03:52

I've bought quite a few cushions from The Fabric Warehouse and they always stay nice and cushiony.

glammanana Wed 23-Nov-11 22:43:36

number do you have any x catalogue shops near to you,I bought some really good ones by BHS from one such shop over 12 mths ago and they have stayed nice and plump, also Matalan do really good quality cushions my DD got two bigger type ones 18" or 20" square and they have stayed nice also,M&S also have them in their outlet shops at good prices, but I still class their reduced prices as expensive as I like to change mine on a regular basis.Good luck.

Can anyone tell me where I can get nice cushions, at a fairly reasonable price, that don`t go flat after a couple of weeks? The last ones I bought have ended up two cushion pads to one cushion cover, and they`re still flat-ish!
