Dettol Power and Pure Spray yellow white enamel bath discolouration

My wife used this cleaning spray for the first time today and was upset to find that the white enamel bath had developed a yellow colour like turmeric which required a slightly abrasive cleaning agent The Pink Stuff The Miracle Paste Cleaner for its removal.

Can you comment on this?

I looked for an e mail address to send this to Dettol UK at but did not succeed hence my using you for this information. I think that the discolouration caused her such a degree of difficulty that she will be a little wary of using it again.

Did your wife check what it said on the original cleaning product she used? Sometimes there are warnings about not using certain products on certain surfaces.

husband73 I have just taken my bottle of power & pure and looked on the back, contact www.dettol.co.uk or tel no.0845 769 7079 these details are on the back of the spray bottle. There may be a reaction with bath products that have been used previously but I would certainly inform them.

Exactly the same thing happened to me today. I was horrified to see my white bath turn bright yellow. I have rubbed and rubbed with a Flash eraser sponge but cannot get it completely off. I have now binned the Dettol which was quite expensive.
