RUG CLEANING

Well, we have a carpet cleaning place (www.ecocleancares.com) that I remember. It is worth to put the stained carpet (that is truly on a bigger size than I would be open to cleaning) professionally cleaned. In the event that you like it, if the expense is similar to purchasing another one then I think you can go in that way.

Ah right Charleygirl. I didn't go into details with my friend but can see how this would not be an option for some unless Homebase actually hired out a strapping handyman along with the machine.

Rug Doctor can be hired from my local Homebase. I have not used it because I would not be able to lift it into my car and even if I had help I would still have to struggle this end.

I doubt if the cost would be worth it for one rug.

A friend recently used something called rug doctor to clean a cream rug and the result was very impressive.

If you know someone with a steam cleaner they freshen up rugs, upholstery, curtains etc

I have a light blue Next wool rug that I would like to dye.Anybody any experience of doing this?

Around our way most car wash places are run by Eastean Europeans and this is what they do, so it's no surprise to them.

We have no fitted carpets changed every thing when DH was using walking aids. DD has recomed a vanishproduct "deep clean" she will pick it up on friday from asda, rug is light coloured might give bi carb on its own before then

When ever I have freshened up rugs I have always used 1001 diluted in warm water and never had any problems,just test an underneath corner first and don't over wet a damp sponge should do it then put out side if you can to dry off natually.

olive do you have any fitted carpets that might need cleaning? We had ours done some years ago, (before the cat damage to the stair carpet rendered it not worth cleaning and the nice chap that did it also gave the large rug in the sitting room a good clean.

Vanish left light marks on my carpet when used in an emergency. If you can't get hold of ( borrow?) an electric carpet cleaner then try a solution of white distilled vinegar and bi carb. This is great for spot cleaning and lifts coffee stains. Let it dry and then Hoover. X

Vanish carpet cleaner ok for light colours I have found. Some carpet cleaners seem to leave a mark so teats on small area first. I bet there is a natural product you could use. Is it bicarbonate of soda GN'ers?

But DON'T use Johnson's Cleaners !!!!!

Dry cleaning company will do it they £30 to £50 lot of money

I believe most drycleaning firms will clean it for you !
