Window vacuum cleaners

Sorry number I can't give any opinion on these as I know nothing about them, I looked on Amazon and they do have very mixed reviews, worth reading a few. Good luck

I have a neighbour who loves hers but I think if you can't get "up and close" as you can't it may not be the answer for you. I have to pay a window cleaner for the outside ones even if he doesn't do the best job at least I can see through them!!

Hmmmm! I only knew about them because I saw an ad on the internet for one, and it put the idea into my head. I`ve just looked on Amazon, and they`re not TOO expensive, until you factor in the cost of an extension pole, which I`d need, and they`re between £26 and £35, depending on where you shop, the dearer one was with Oxendales. I will have to keep thinking about it.

I've got a Karcher. It's brilliant. I don't have all the bits and pieces which they try to sell you; I just wash the windows with a j cloth and a bit of w/u liquid and then let rip with the Karcher. The 13 bifold doors in my kitchen used to take forever to clean , but now I can do them in about 20 minutes and they are streak-free. I got mine in Tesco - it was the cheapest.

Love mine - also use it to clean the shower.

It is a Karcher my neighbour has and she says she should get commision from them as she has recommended them to so many people.

Mine's a Karcher and I love it because the DH now likes to clean the windows!

Has anyone got the extension pole? Is it difficult to manoeuvre the window vac with the pole attached? Would be good to not have to stand on chairs outside. The legs do sink into the garden.

Having read this thread I'm definitely going to buy one when the weather warms up a bit. DH loves gadgets so I'm thinking along rockgran's lines.

Jingl, I was wondering how easy the pole is to use, I definitely couldn`t manage without it. Am still thinking about buying one, not made my mind up yet. GA, love your alternative, but don`t have any elves at the moment!

Not sure it would help with the outside ones as you would still have to stand on something to wash with washing up liquid solution before you vacuumed them dry. Be alright indoors, but I manage those ok with e cloths.

Be good for drying condensation on bedroom Windows on cold mornings. Another thing to clutter the place up though.

It's quite small Jingle- comes apart to fit into the box!

I have a Karcher, bought it last summer, really easy to use and does a decent job.

Do you use it with the extension pole Withany? I don`t have a problem with outside, I have a window cleaner, but I can`t climb the stepladder to clean the indoor ones, plus can`t manoeuvre them up the stairs even if I could climb them.

I don't know why this has come to mind, but friends of mine who had been renting a house from the church had to move into another church property when a new lady vicar was appointed.

Apparently she has a less than sunny disposition and when the regular window cleaner visited her for the first time she emerged from the house like a ship in full sail (she is rather a large lady) and in ringing tones said "take your ladder out of my bush at once!"

I saw a steam cleaner on a TV ad recently that had an attachment for steaming windows clean! It looked impressive but then TV ads often do
