Built in double oven

I have just spent a week of my life trying to find the perfect oven and I've failed miserably. I had the perfect oven at my last house - it was a Creda Circulaire, over 10 years old, but they don't make it any more and things seem to have gone backwards! It's very difficult to get accurate information online and a lot of them don't even show you pictures of the interior. The ones on display in the shops aren't the same ones that you see online and the assistants don't know anything about them. The Which reports only cover certain models and the best one at a reasonable price (a Neff) only achieved a score of 77%. What are the manufacturers doing about this?
I want the main oven to have a fan but not a grill and I want the top oven to have a decent sized efficient grill with a handle on the grill pan and a fat catcher and the ability to only use half the grill. I also want to use the grill with the door open. Help! confusedangry

I have a Synergie multi function double oven. The main oven cooks in three ways, a fan oven, a ordinary oven, heated top and bottom and a grill which has to have the door closed while using it. The smaller top oven is a conventional oven and a grill, one side of the grill can be used separately. I love this oven. I have used it very often for 8 years and I would certainly get another

I think it is made by Belling NewGranny should be fairly easy to find?

Perhaps newist has the model name or number?

Yes it is a belling, I have just dug out the book I got when I bought it. It came from Howdens, where I bought my Kitchen. It also has a defrost setting, I love it

Thanks again - it seems that this model is also discontinued. However I have decided to buy British and go for the latest Belling with crossed fingers so thanks for your recommendations. Now for the hob! smile

Let us know how you get on with it NewGranny. We will be altering our kitchen either later this year or next and I'll have to change my old Belling cooker. It has a few minor problems now but I'd buy exactly the same again if it was possible. It must be at least 30 years old!

Belling now installed and I am pleased with it. The top oven grill operates with the door open which is what I wanted. The only annoying thing is that it comes without a handle for the grillpan. After struggling with oven gloves I investigated buying a handle and found that the cost of one to fit this model is only £1 less than buying a complete grill pan with rack and handle on Amazon! So I have now bought said grill pan with handle and this works fine but I am annoyed that this was necessary. I couldn't find a grill anywhere that has a fat trap like my beloved Creda. This is an extra tray that goes under the rack so the fat drips through the holes and doesn't flare up and splatter. Lakeland sell disposable ones but at 50p a time I don't think it's worth it and I try to avoid disposable products that end up in landfill.
